Hi all,

Check out my latest graphic overhaul mod - Blade of Darkness Reforged at Moddb & youtube.

Blade of Darkness Reforged features include -

Upscaled 2k handmade textures based on the original textures covering all maps*, objects, weapons, characters and npcs.

Individual Reshade presets for each map. These individual Reshade configs have been carefully designed for each map and include Bloom, DOF, AO, SSR, HDR and tonemapping.

Lastly, Blade of Darkness Reforged is releasing on the 22nd Jan and will also include -

2K upscaled original character textures will also be included for those of you that prefer them.
Also, hybrid versions will also be included for those of you that may like a mixture between the new skins and the originals.

Installation instructions say for Steam version - GOG version the same?

I'm presuming I need a completely fresh clean install of BOD?

got it working no problem with the GOG version - excellent work!!

One note - be a little careful when extracting the files into the right folders, you have to put the maps into the right folder yourself, it was the only thing missing from the excellent and detailed installation instructions.

Really enjoying the new textures and reshade has a definite positive impact. i would say the only thing that might need a little work still are the health / experience bars... but absolutely not complaining, this is an amazing mod, go try it out !

Hey there, first of all, MUCH LOVE for all the work, time and effort you put into this. And I really hate to do this, but I've tried for the past 3 days to get this to work... and can't. I've read all the forums, noticed the map folders in the wrong place, even noticed that reshade has updated a few times since your OG post, and went back and got the 4.9.1 version used in the pics... and no matter how I mix these ingredients together, as the game starts to load it gets about halfway through and then loads the "empty map" thing(Though it feels like the start of the Character select map but with no movement besides a slow drop of the cam then nothing) and does nothing.

I'm fairly familiar with mods, was running BOD with Blade of Light 1.5 + Gorenity + MultiCombos 2 years ago on this machine. Came back saw there was a re-release and This awesome mod... want to use it so much. Can you think of anything it might be? Is there a way to tell what file caused the crash/is missing?

I really don't understand a file being missing cause I check the game is working after first clean install, then after ReShade install, and everything works great both times. Then after I paste the mod files in, taking care to go step by step, copy the Bin folder to the 2nd one, Map folders to maps folder, Overwrite all the files.... then run... and it hangs.

The only possible missing files I think would be new ones that would be in wrong places, somehow. But I don't know what file it's looking for/where. If I knew that, or had a working file structure to compare mine to I could figure it out.

But as it stands, I can't get this cake to bake, lol. any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated.

Only things i can remotely think of are - antivirus removing a vital file and putting it in quarantine? I've had that happen a couple of times with game mods..

Also - you say you have played BoD before with other Mods - you 100% sure you got a clean install this time round? I've had that as well - old registry files hanging around that have killed games, and old fiiles in user locations not removed by the game uninstall have also messed things up for me. Do a registry clean and check those odd places where BoD might have put old config files or saves.
