Hi all,

We have uploaded a new patch for the PC version of Blackguards that will update your game to version 1.4. We are still waiting on some technical issues to be ironed out with the Mac version of patch 1.4 and we apologize for the delay.

Please download Patch 1.4 from your game shelf at your earliest convenience in order to have the lates and greatest version of the game :)

Known Issues:


Gameplay

- The fight where you have to kill 13 tentacles gives no rewards.

Graphics

- Large Screens and resolutions (above 1920x1080) are not supported.

- Very low resolutions may display several texts and fonts incorrectly.

Interface and Text

- Spell calculations are not displayed correctly in the detailed
Battlelog, if the caster is wearing metallic armor.

I am having problems updating this. I currently have English version 2.1.0.6, and the setup for 2.1.1.7 (patch_blackguards_special_edition_2.1.1.7.exe) freezes up completely (not responding). I have to use Task Manager to quit out. The patch log says that there is a wrong version. I have quoted a small portion of the log (it's too long to quote fully, but all of the lines are of the same format):

You can always copy+paste the contents if there's not too much :) I am not sure what the character limit actually is on the contact form, however...

There is no other detail in the log, other than what I quoted earlier, and I quoted that in the support form, so I'll just wait until they reply. If they do need the entire log, I'll send it via email.

Hi Judas, I checked Blackquards was updated on my office comp, but now at home I don't remember if Mac version have been updated already or not...
Can you please somehow attach versions of installers into your posts? And the direct links to games in our shelfs too (e.g. https://secure.gog.com/account/games#open=blackguards+special+edition ) ?

Got the same problem with the german version (2.1.0.6 too, but cannot completely verify this (the current version is stated nowhere)).

Strange, could this be a corrupted patch file? Anybody tried patching successfully?

The Mac version has not been updated. It has been delayed due to technical issues beyond our control and we are waiting for a newer version of Blackguards 1.4 on Mac. I also stated that the Mac version has been delayed in the OP :)

I think I saw update flag on mac version too, but wasn't sure about it... it had to be from hot and thirst, few beers later everything was OK :D

No worries :) I completely understand the heat part, it's so hot at times that I can't muster the energy to play a game :/

I solved this problem:
I redownloaded the installer for version 2.1.0.6, let the file integrity check run before reinstalling the game with this and patching with a freshly downloaded patch.
If you haven't figured out the problem yet, maybe try this way.

My game still will not update either, even after contacting GOG support, who gave the standard support desk advice: disable antivirus (done), disable firewall (done), run as administrator (there is only an administrator account on this machine, so everything runs as admin, but to humour them... done), uninstall the game and reinstall base game (done). No change whatsoever with all of those steps. I even went one further, I deleted all of the installation files from my disk and re-downloaded them, including the DLC. Reinstalled the game. That went fine (see a picture here, GOG?). Tried the patch and it simply freezes when the progress bar reaches about a third, and the log complains it's encountering an incorrect version. It is not an incorrect version. This is broken, and needs fixing. At this stage, I have given up completely on this game.
