Hey guys, just bought this game, love it already.

When I started up the game, I was notified with a small box that said my video card drivers were not up to date. Mind you this is a brand new laptop right out of the box, last week. I've already done all the windows updates and checked the website of ATi to see if I missed anything.

I've got a Gateway m-6862
Dual core 2.0 gig
512 mb ATi Mobility Radeon HD 2600
4 gigs of RAM.

Anyone else have that notice of not up to date drivers?

its probably saying its not up to date because its so new it can't recognize it.
From the readme file:

Driver version detection:
The detection of drivers that are not up-to-date may fail.
If you have installed up-to-date drivers, just ignore it.

This is a minor annoyance to me as well because I can't find a way to make it stop showing up. Still, I can't expect a few minor hickups with good old games!
I just bought this game last nioght, started it up, got the notification the drivers were out of date, checked the ATI website, and found a new set of ATI Radeon drivers, as of 17/11/10... ...same box did NOT appear after I installed these drivers.

...so, maybe check your drivers...

EDFIT: OK, despite actually finding drivers to update, the notice still appears... Still, I have new drivers!

Apologies for post necromancy, but this issue still is present with 11.9 ATI drivers. Updating doesn't solve the issue. This isn't much of a solution. Is there any setting or configuration file that could be tweaked to get around this? In some cases the HUD for Jade doesn't display properly, the mouse and food icons flicker erratically, and there are polygons that go black briefly during combat.

Try fiddling with the graphics options. Turning off HW Vertex Processing fixed my issues. That might work for you as well.

Thank you, I will try this.
