This game is cheaper on Steam europe (€4,99, ~$6). I dunno if I'd pay 3 dollar 99 extra for a standalone install.
Edit: Corrected the numbers

Do we have the same Steam? I bought it on Steam AND GOG...and I see the same price.
$9.99 on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/15130/
$9.99 on GOG http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/beyond_good_and_evil
GOG also implements a couple fixes not included in the Steam version, as well as the manual and the partial (official) soundtrack.

A game on Euro Steam which is cheaper than in North America ?!??
Still, I got the GOG.com version. I get better fuzzy feelings from it.

This weekend it's more like $2.50 on Steam, since it comes in a UbiSoft 4 pack that's $10 for FarCry, BG&E, IL-2, and Dark Messiah.
GOG definitely has a leg up over Steam on making the games more forward compatible, but I'm a pretty handy guy when it comes to making my stuff work in Vista, so I just picked up the deal on Valve. Much love for GOG tho, cause I got Duke3D and a few other awesome classics here.
Obviously Valve did that to contrast the GoG offers using his dominance position.
But GoG will have this price always, Steam only for the weekend.
Yeah, actually nice to see Steam running a little scared but you know what, I only actually want BGAE and maybe Far Cry, so the extras and lack of crappy DRM make it a fairly simple choice to stay here.
