Yes Virkaa, I was enjoying it too until I started running to areas that the controls and camera issues became too much. I tired centering on Jade - it did NOT help. I have other more player friendly games that I can play.
So, I deleted this one.

Maybe that's because I'm used to console games (and their sloppy camera), but I didn't encountered huge problems. The last sections were tough, but doable. The only glitch I encountered was at the ending, where the game decided to crash right after the final boss due to "Insufficient Memory" (to be fair, I was playing three hours straight).
An OK port compared to others I've played.

FatalKitsune: The PC version has numerous issues that may or may not crop up for you including poor sound quality, no controller suppourt and not even launching at all.
the last one is a very legit problem but.. i have to say.. no controller support is a port failure/issue? (also i thought it was originally a pc title ported to consoles?)
"the xbox port is a failure i can't even use a mouse" but that might just be me imo a game plays best the thing it's programmed for.
but about BGE itself great game
1 month later...

I had absolutely no issues with the controls when I played it, and I play console games sparingly nowadays. Loved the whole thing, even though I beat it in 2 days.
I had made a gamepad-profile for the game which changes the controls to something almost like on the XBox.

Here's the thread:

It makes the port a lot less sloppy in my opinion.

Just so if anyone is still interested in this.
I've been using Joy2Key and a Logitech Rumblepad. Plays quite nicely, but the port is definitely pretty average. Not at all optimised for getting decent performance out of a PC.
I think Joy2Key - while not bad - is not flexible enough to give an almost console like experience. Especially because of the camera-movements, which work best with Pinnacle.
I think that's still ultimately the fault of the port though.

The only problem with using Joy2Key is that I map the left analogue stick to WSAD, which obviously does not allow me to move the stick a little to correspond to a slower movement. Mapping the right stick to the mouse feels pretty spot on to me, because the sensitivity works.

Yes, that's true.

And, yes, you can't really make Jade walk slower. You can (at least in Pinnacle) tell the profiler to press Space as well as WASD when the stick is pushed more than, say, 80% BUT this will also mean that your boat will switch to turbo whenever you push your stick all the way.
The better solution - in my opinion - is to map space to both triggers (on an XBox360 pad) as the pad has more buttons than are needed.

I also added as slight camera movement when walking sideways (pushing left or right but not up and down) as I noticed the console port does that as well. The result is much less fiddling around with the camera via the right stick and truly a much more "consoley" feel to it.

However, I don't know if Joy2Key supports that option.

@Patryn
Link to your pad file won't work. Any chance you could host it into a different service than megaupload which doesn't make it inaccessible after a little while. Like Host a Hosting. Would like to play this game properly on with pad.
Strange, the link works for me. you did go here?

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DBTI451Y

But I'll see about another hosting site. Hang in there.

EDIT: Okay, I uploaded it with Rapidshre. I hope this helps. Here's the link:
