Curunauth: *sigh* Has remake-fever started to bleed over from the movie industry to games? Sad.
It certainly makes sense for console-only games, see "God of War" or SotC. And this goes
double for games that dint get the attention and sales they deserved the first time
I dont see how you can be negatively affected by it - its not like there will be much of a chance of making the remakes worse as its more of a "re-release" (like on Bluray) than a remake in the movie-sense. It gives people the chance to catch up to the classics they missed and for those still raving about the games they are a nice collectible with some improvements over the original
Curunauth: I definitely want more BG&E, but a straight remake (even with some easter eggs) would have to be a truly amazing upgrade to earn any points. What about the hinted-at sequel, eh?
Well, maybe it would help showing Ubi that there is a big demand for the sequel. Lets see.. you could sign some worthless petitions, possibly multiple times with different names (and then still decide not to buy the sequel should it ever come out)... or show a measurable buying intent to the publisher by buying the remake.
Curunauth: And the original PC release looked really good; lighting, particle effects, and shadows were plenty good enough to give real atmosphere, and the overall design was beautiful - gorgeous set-pieces, all the fascinating wildlife . . . not a lot of room for improvement where it matters, frankly.
native gamepad-control, fixed widescreen ratio and better compatibility with multicore and frequency-scaling for once?
I couldnt bring myself to playing the game in HD (= on PC) because of those reasons - after
I spent some times trying to fix some of those issues
