Two questions -- but not two desperate ones in that I feel it should be marked as a problem topic. I was just wondering if it's true there are moments in the game when the speech is not there, but the text is, when Robert is talking to someone.
My other question: Is it true the game title doesn't actually appear in the game itself? After the Virgin and Revolution logo show up, the text "in association with Dave Gibbons present" appears and then the game immediately cuts to the intro animation. I was expecting to see the game title at that point...?
Is this indeed missing or do I have a botched version or something?

OMG, I didn't want this topic to be posted three times... I just landed on an error page each time I clicked "Post my message", so, naturally, I thought the topics hadn't been created either. But I was wrong.
I'm pretty new here, but can I, or maybe someone else delete the other threads?

Unfortunatly you can't delete your own threads, so a gog staff memeber will have to do that for you whent hey notice the multiple threads. I wouldn't worry about it too much though as it even happens to people that have been around gog for ages now.
As for your questions, I don't remember the intro but the all the game was fully voiced when I played it, no missing speech as far as I can remember.

I believe I remember when Robert starts a conversation with the medical robot Joey and asks him about the room with the android (and how to get rid of it), no matter which opening line you choose, they aren't voiced. And there are a couple of other points in the game where lines by Robert aren't voiced either.
I'm probably the only one somewhat annoyed by it. :)

If thats the case I must have not noticed it. So used to playing unvoiced adventure games anyway.

I think I remember noticing a line or two that was missing, but it didn't really impact my enjoyment of the game.

I only remember there being a difference in one written/spoken line when talking to the suspicious looking man on the middle level. The speech isn't missing there, Robert's reply is just different in text and in speech. But AFAIR neither of them feel out of place so the written dialog probably got altered after the voices were recorded.
The game title does appear in the floppy disk version of the game intro. It skips the comic but gives us some music and a distinct title screen, followed by the helicopter crash. The few lines of dialogue in the floppy intro are naturally not voiced. The floppy intro sequence also exists in the CD-ROM version of the game, but it's not shown by default. You can set ScummVM (i.e. your GOG copy) to run the floppy intro instead, or just watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpC-fIc6o30
IMO with the GOG release, the floppy intro is preferred because we got the comic in a PDF in much higher fidelity than in the CD-ROM intro. I never even got the comic with my (new) boxed copy of BASS CD, maybe because it was a White Label re-release.

Just to set this to rest, it's a fact that some of the recorded dialogue IS missing. When they were adding BASS to ScummVM, they looked to see if perhaps it was a glitch but there are no files containing those lines so it looks like they're just missing.

From what I've been able to find out, the dialogue was rerecorded (the original recordings used Shakespearian actors, and was found not to be suitable), and seems to have gotten changed in the process.
