Played this a while back on ScummVM. I'm assuming this version by GOG should be the same? Either ways, this is a great point and click adventure that everyone should play.
Really like to comment that the guys at GOG are great for releasing this on the site. All the work for setting up the game pages, getting the extra content as well as getting the game working off modern machines. I mean, you guys did all these for zero profitability and I thought I ought to show some appreciation.
Also, its great to see that GOG.com is becoming more than just another digital download site for games, but that of a great community, and a place for gamers to maintain their Good Old Games collection!
I'd like to second the sentiments about Beneath A Steel Sky in particular and GOG in general. What a fantastic site, and a superb community from what I've seen.
Keep up the good work, chaps!
I agree with the above posts and would like to extend my gratitude to the GoG -team. Thank you for making the lives of many Good old Gamers alot more enjoyable! I mean, the whole GoG community is awesome, the games offered are pure gold, and you can actually buy everything just for a few pieces o' eight...
Only thing that I'm afraid about, is that someone's going to prick my finger soon and then I'll just wake up from this wonderful dream..
This game is one of the best point & click games from the golden age of the genre. I still have the original floppy disks AND CD-ROM (I liked the game so much I ended up buying the talkie-version too).
Although I already knew this game and Lure were free through SCUMMVM, I applaude GOG for spending some bandwidth providing these games. Already, I saw on some forums people using this as a "demo" of the GOG service & store and coming out very impressed.
Congrats GOG Team.

I played this game when it came out, both on the Amiga and the PC and i must say its a great title. Thanks GOG. This game is really a classic!
I love the humour in this game, the voice acting in the intro was pretty cheesy though heh. I got fried by a security pad at the police station XD
I really hope that the GoG team get to release Discworld Noir, that was a great point and click.
Discworld Noir was buggy as all hell though. Still a great game, particularly if you're a fan of the books, but the developer went bust shortly after release and so far as I know, it never got patched.
You couldn't even load from the main menu. Clicking Load Game caused a CTD. You had to click New Game, sit through the intro and then load from the pause menu.
GOG is the best thank you for this great game!

Until I upgraded to XP, my copy was fine. It was the Playstation version for me that was bugged to hell.

Agreed on all counts here. Never got to try this game back in the heyday my PC adventuring days, but I will definitely give it a go now that GOG has gone to all the fantastic effort and has such generosity to make it free. I was interested in trying this site as soon as I heard about it, but the initial selection made me a little hesitant. However, free point-and-click adventure game...I'm all over that!
Thanks!
Speaking of adventure games in general, anyone into King's Quest and Quest for Glory series should take a look at some of the free remakes:

KQ2 by AGD Interactive
KQ3 by Infamous Adventures

I agree, awsome game. When I first played it I played it without the sound so I'm glad I get to hear whats going on now.
Superb job there GOG. Never played it before but I just finished it and have to say it's an amazing Adventure game. Sucked me in like a triple cunted hooker until I'd beaten it. I got stuck once or twice but the walkthrough on Revolution's site was very helpful at those points.

Yup, I signed up to grab it as a test of the service (I've already got the original, plus loads of copies of the freeware one installed on various devices using SCUMMVM. The presentation and overall package that you get using GOG.com is basically flawless though. Absolutely great introduction to the service, I have a feeling I'll be buying a fair few games from here.

For those that haven't noticed, there's actually both a manual and a walkthrough in PDF format in the installation directory.
