Hi,
In this game, whenever I turn the game off, when I start it again my save files are gone.
Any ideas why that would be?

Are you guys running Vista? It could be a permissions thing. Perhaps try installing the game to somewhere other than the Programs folder - another drive if you have one. Alternatively try running the game with a Right click> Run as Administrator instead.

Well I think I've found the problem. I was switching between opening the game via the desktop icon and using ScummVM to start it. When I started the game with one, it would not show save games made when I started it with the other. Strange, but that seems to be what the problem was.

Ah, they'll likely have different save locations set up depending on which one you load with.

I'm running the game on Vista and I've saved a few times with no problems.

if you are running XP or any older version of windows, you will find them as SKYVM.xxx in the Beneath a Steel Sky folder.
They should be there as well under Vista if you didn't install it under program files. If you did install it, then Vista will not let any program store files there. Only the admin account can write there, and you should not be running programs as admin.
Find <account name>/appdata/local/virtualstore/program files(x86)/GOG.com/Beneath a Steem Sky.
This folder is combined with the real one when applications look for files, but is carefully hidden from the actual user.

Ah, yes. I'm running Vista so my saves went there. Any way of configuring Scumm to store saves in a different folder?
