boomboris: Just want to add one thing:
Dear devs, please return original models back to the game. These ones you use for buildings and units are taken from some mode - and they are awful. Just, i don't know, make some switcher in menu...
The ISDF models in the game were created by Chris "Coxxon" Cox, who was the original creator of BZ2 Remodeled. They were created by the same artist in a similar style, but for the most part that's where the similarity ends. The Scion models and most environment props are by a completely different artist entirely and bear no such similarity.

There is a mod on the Steam Workshop that makes use of the original models - once the procedures for cross-platform downloads are fixed you should be able to download and use those.

Still they look worse than original ones.

That's, actually, a stupid scheme - make a mod to remodded game, that returns original unit look. This new Combat Commander itself is a mutant of original game, community patch and bunch of visual mods - and I like to have option to disable them in-game.

I was not disputing your opinion of their appearance. That's yours and you are free to think of these models what you wish. I was disputing the assertion that they were taken from a mod, because they are not.

That's a disingenuously simple way of looking at it. Without going into the technical aspects, Combat Commander does things the original game could never support.

The game does not provide that option. If you want to use them, your best option is to install the mod that puts them back..

I definitely saw these models way back ago in some mod for original game

Original game + UEP = everytrhing is needed

I've already explained why they look familiar. I criticised Battlezone 2 Remodeled heavily when it was released. I was later involved in BZCC's beta testing and I *watched* the changes I'm talking about happen. BZCC's models originated with BZ2R but they are *not* the same.

Original game + UEP = everytrhing is needed
As one of the UEP's developers, no, absolutely not, any installation of BZ2 with the UEP in it needs an exorcist and shooting in the back of the head, and not necessarily in that order. That mod was a hideous frankenstein that should have been split up long before the botched release it eventually got. It also only served to add new content to the game - most of it low-quality shovelware, frankly - and couldn't dream of providing the new features BZCC does.

I gave this new battle zone a go this week. I got it to multiplay with my daughter actually, but naturally it refused to network. I am not blaming the game for that, ever since i got windows 10 on my home computers i have not been able to network anything despite extensive efforts. it seems with every new version of Windows, networking gets harder in general until now its just impossible.

I gave MPI bridges a go - first go i put a relay bunker in a bad position up the road to the upper pool. That upset the road so that no repair or scav vehicles could get past, even after removing the bunker, so i had to restart.

Second go i was doing well up until the AI started using Archers. Firing from the centre island and i had not removed the tower yet! I sent two squads of mortar bikes and one squad of sabre tanks but they were destroyed in two seconds. - so i was forced to watch them slowly destroy all my defenses and nothing i can do - except restart again!

Next round i made sure to take the centre island quicker so avoided that archer problem. Then i took a few more pools with little contest, then raided their base a few times with mortar bikes, the AI defense was fierce. Then it counter attacked quite fiercely, but while it was doing that i marched into its base with a walker and found very little opposition as i obliterated their base. The AI was attacking me with scouts from the recycler, a desperate move indeed!.

I have not noticed anything different from the original game here.

but my advice to people complaining about the AI.... with this game, you need to put efforts to 'stoke the fire' of the AI and avoid exploiting its weaknesses in order to get the most out of it..... to put it simply 'a bit of hand holding can go a long way'
They never should have chosen Ronald McDonald as the "Redux" graffic designer.

everytime i see it i want a cheeseburger, so i shut down the game and go to McDonalds.

thats what the "new and improved" graffics say to me.

Then again, Bozo might be behind this too.
