lmgava: In case anyone is interested, and to close this matter, I received this message today:
Hello,
Thank you for writing to us.
The offer to receive 10% off BATTLETECH was valid until April 26 6:00 PM UTC, so 48h after the release of the title. Users that have pre-ordered the game and were eligible for the discount, after reaching out to GOG Support within the duration of said offer, could have the game refunded so they could repurchase it at a lower price, receiving the pre-order bonus in the form of a code.
You have reached out to us and was offered the above mentioned workaround but we, unfortunately, did not receive a reply from you before the offer ended.
I apologize for any inconveniences caused by this offer.
lmgava: I don't know why I got all the emails today in one batch, if this buffering was caused by my email server or theirs.
Anyway, the fact I had only 48 hours to ask to rectify the problem is utterly ridiculous.
They could have, and still could, simply give me that 10% back (4 dollars) in the GOG wallet and the problem would have been quickly solved with mutual satisfaction.
I would have thought they did the right thing and be happy, and they would have not gave me the money back but just some credit to spend here on GOG.
Still is not really about the money, it's about the way this has been managed.
I don't want to waste more time on this suggesting them what should be obvious, so I'll stop here, but now I love GOG a little less.
It's clearly a matter of reputation for them. It should be their interest to assure that their customers don't feel tricked by a bad implemented discount. They should simply have contacted all the customers that preordered the game and give them back the difference. They shouldn't expect everyone to call support, otherwise the impression is that they wanted to hide the issue (a thing that happens everytime they do a mistake) and hope a small portion of their customers would ask for the money back. This way they could keep the difference. Hello,

I'm interested in the thing about "receiving the preorder bonus as a code". Wasn't the preorder bonus unlocked using the Paradox Account?
