Hi folks,

I bought BattleTech a week ago so please excuse me if this is a stupid question.

Way back in the 90s we enjoyed the heck out of Ralph H. Reed's "MechForce" on the Amiga and spent endless evenings with 3 or 4 humans fighting a lance of AI 'Mechs cooperatively, on a single computer.

I wonder if the same would be possible with this version of BattleTech? I guess the way to go would be playing only single-player "Skirmishes", (remember, hot-seat :)), but I wonder if the MechWarriors would progress or is everything lost once the skirmish finishes?

If so, are there any other ways to keep a bit of "history" from multiple battles as we progress?

Thanks in advance & all the best,

Uwe

I'd suggest playing career mode and assigning two or three mech warriors to each human player. You can definitely do it hot seat style, though it will be a bit cumbersome. The RPG aspects of each mech warrior is pretty limited though...

Each mech warrior will gain XP and can pick skills that suit the desires of the individual controlling them. Mech warriors will get injured and the team will need back ups. This is triply true during the early game when you can't hit the broad side of a barn and all four of you have to get within punching distance of an enemy that never misses. :)
