I would love to see Clan mech with the full layout of weaponry... Clan Gauss, Long Tom, and that single missile that hits as hard as a Gauss... :D
I don't recall where I read it, but it is my understanding that any later timeline stuff such as the Clan Invasion would be limited to full sequels, if it happens at all.
You could keep an eye on the official forums, if you liked. These two threads look promising:

and perhaps

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/next.1108571/

The gist of it is this: nothing official exists saying what they *will* be doing. But the game has been successful, the devs have said they'd like to flesh out the Inner Sphere history a bit, and there has been no commitment to changing the game to accomodate the Clan Invasion. You probably should expect more content in patches and/or DLCs, but it probably won't be Clan Invasion stuff.
If they wait much longer they risk losing the momentum this game has. It's already been out for four months and we haven't heard a peep on additional content.
Are you saying that they should rush to get out a DLC? To me, four months isn't really that long. Of course, maybe I'm just getting old or something, but even back in the day I was generally content with a game not having a sequel or add-on after that short amount of time.

Hehe, swapping floppies, turning over tapes. Games have changed so much since the C64 days.
My first trip thru the game, took several years. By my calculations almost to the war of 3039. That would be a good expansion, getting "some" recovered technology mechs and equipment.
Seems they heared you: Battletech Flashpoint is being announced;)

Hm... I wonder if the expansion is DRM'd and not available on GOG. The product page lists Paradox and Steam as the available platforms.

That seems to be typical for Paradox, they say Age of Wonders III is only available on Steam, but its here, so I have no doubt it will come here, especially as HBS is very fast with updates on GOG lately.
