This is excelent. After copying Lafazar's settings I finally got it to work. I have previously been using Zeckensacks glide wrapper but that doesn't support nearly as many different resolutions. And to make matters worse I got a windowboxed screen. A box of 1280x960 on a screen of 1920x1080 could be worse. But now I'm running 1400x1050 with stretched image and it looks better than I've ever seen it before (sensational for a 1997 game. Horrible for a 2011 game :-) )
KajQrd have you tried setting the game rez inside DGvoodoo to the same rez as your desktop? That worked for me and tightened thing up a little...I think

Tried with an original Creative 3D Blaster Voodoo 2 under Windows 7 32bit with koolsmoky's drivers but the game give me a "run in directx5 mode" error.
Yes I have set the resolution in dgVoodoo. I just chose 1400x1050 because it is the highest 4:3 resolution. And I hate stretched graphics so i'm not interested in playing it in widescreen. And by the way I wasn't complaining about the graphics. Just commenting that Incubation by today's standards looks pretty old... Not that strange for a thirteen year old game.

try copying the glide2x.dll file from koolsmoky's driver directly to the game folder.
In case anyone else gets the "Run in DirectX5 error" on a netbook with an Intel 940 integrated graphics card (and, presumably, any other similar Intel Graphics Mutilator) while using dgVoodoo with Lafazar's settings, try setting the Renderer API to "DirectDraw 7 & Direct3D7" instead of "Direct3D9."

just install, set your favorite resolution in the wrapper's configurator and your're good to go (the registry setting -english -3dfx is still necessary).

I've been playing for about an hour without any problems, and in my monitor's native resolution (1920x1200).
OS : Win7 x64
CPU : Intel Q9550
GPU : GeForce GTX 275
is the aspect ratio correct?

I've used all your tips and in the end I've got nice looking Incubation - thanks! :D

But I do have one problem: every time I exit the game I've got some crash report (Win XP SP3, dgVoodoo1.50Beta2.zip) - is there any possibility to somehow fix that? It does not influence game itself (so far) but I do not like "strange" crashes... I was trying to change some settings in glide but so far got not positive results.
I've tried this wrapper with my CD-ROM-version of Incubation. Didn't work, I got an error message that some .dll was missing or something like that. I think I've got to try it with the gog-version.

What do you mean with this registry setting, please elaborate!

you should post the error message if you want more help.

read the previous page of this thread. it's explained in post #6.
Sorry, I was using some other glide wrapper when I got this message. I didn't get it when I used the glide wrapper supplied with the gog-package.
I think it said some entry point in glide2.dll was missing. But the game works better when you use zeckensacks glide wrapper, and fiddle around with the settings.

You should set a render thread for the game, change the shader settings etc in the configurator if you experience bad performance.
The problem is: You can't set the graphics setting for gog's glide wrappers, like you can do in gog-DosBOX games.
But using an external wrapper might help.
Hmm, one thing I must add:
In the original version of the game (CD-ROM package) you could select between Software rendering and 3DFX Glide 3d-mode before startup, but that's removed in the gog-version, so I think Zeckensacks wrapper will only be useful when you change the registry settings as mentioned in the previous threads (just read them).

Anyway, since I've figured out how to play my original CD-Version of Incubation from the German CD ROM-package, I'll be playing that and not the gog-version, I think.

Galimatias: This is what I got from our Dev:

Download http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo1.50Beta2.zip (we checked it on 1.40 and it was working)
Copy glide.dll and glide2x.dll to the games folder.
Change the parameters in the registry as follows:
Windows 32bit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GOG.com\GOGBATTLEISLE3INCUBATION\LAUNCHPARAM
Change "-english -directx" to "-english -3dfx".
Windows 64bit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\GOGBATTLEISLE3INCUBATION\LAUNCHPARAM
Change "-english -directx" to "-english -3dfx".

It should work (it works on our test PC's) but we are not responsible nor we support any damages and/or problems that arise with this modification.

Have a nice day !
thanks this works
