Rant start.

Who the f*** thought it would be a good idea to reverse the buttons when using the mouse/keyboard when trying to escape Croc's lair (not to mention the bloody Scarecrow sections). I've rage quit so many times and am on the verge of giving up on the game. My reflexes aren't as fast as they once were and trying to work out which button to press to turn corners on the last section whilst being chased by Croc has just sucked all the fun out of this game :( If the devs are going to do this then at least give an option to skip the bloody section.

Rant over!
To be fair that controls always stay the same, they are relative to the camera. What they do take away is control of that camera. They do it a lot of times, it's especially annoying during the last fight.

Edit: Every time before the final fight when the camera control was taken away you never had to aim in any way. The Scarecrow sequences are basically 2d-platformers, the other dimension only matters for seconds. The glasshouse fight does not require aiming at all.

If you're playing with mouse and keyboard the final fight is a massive spike in control issues since you never before had to aim via WASD. The most annoying thing is that all over the internet that fight is called the easiest of the boss fights and the penultimate fight is supposedly the second hardest. I cannot agree. It isn't easy, but its definitely a lot easier than the last fight since you still have full camera control, so you can aim quickly and with high precision.

Thanks for the warning regarding the final fight (if I get that far!).

The thing with the scarecrow sections is that, although it's basically a platformer, you still need to control Batman with the WASD buttons which are all reversed and it's timed too so you need to get it right first time. If only for short sections it still makes the game harder for me than it actually needs to be.

I'll give the Croc section a final couple of chances and see how I get on but what is further down the line doesn't give me much enthusiasm to persevere :( I'm also wishing that now I hadn't also bought Arkham City as I guess it'll be more of the same.

For what it's worth, that final bit of the Croc sequence was the only part of the game that gave me any trouble with regard to camera control (or lack thereof) repeatedly screwing me over. And I don't recall anything quite like that in Arkham City, either.

Unfortunately I've had enough, it's now been deleted. A shame as I was really enjoying the game up until the whole change of camera angle thing that just made the game frustrating and impossible for me to complete. I thought Arkham City would use the same tactic so I've already got a refund on it. I'm probably missing out on a good game but Asylum has definitely made me not want to give it a go.
Without the stupid camera angle of the last fight, I would have given the game 4/5 stars (-1 star since they've pulled the one/two titan(s) and a huge number of thugs fight setup too often and finding the last teeth to complete the Riddler's challenges is tedious). Now I would give it something between 1 and 2 stars only.
So I finally got around to trying it again. I fist played the first horde DLC endless challenge and then won the game on the second try.

I'm still not happy with the final fight.

I'm not quite sure what you mean about the 'reversal of the WASD controls' during the scarecrow sections. I played the game recently and as I recall, WASD always moves Batman in the correct direction, with respect to the fixed camera.

I agree though that the fixed camera angle was a bit of a nuisance in several of the boss fights. I found it particularly frustrating in the fight against Poison Ivy. Although, I still enjoyed the game overall and would easily give it 4/5 stars.

I can also confirm there are NO sections in Arkham City that have a fixed camera, so you might well enjoy that one (I'd say it's overall a better game).
