OK, I've gone the whole way now. I copied the suit files over to main BmGame folder plus the BmGame.ini and also really all changed files from the STEAM install. In both cases I get an error "File corruption in ...BmGame.ini detected."
So I guess STEAM and GOG version are a bit more different than they might appear. There's not much more I can do here...

And did you try just using the files I provided and change just the main bmgame.ini? You said you did not want to screw your GOG installation but what you did now is far more than what I suggested.
I only said I did not want to screw my installation before making a proper backup. Which I did yesterday. ;)
As said above I don't think your files are enough because each proper DLC skin usually also has texture and shader files of some kind, which you did not provide.
And you can believe me I also did some other test I did not write about like linking the new files to an existing DLC suit or linking existing DLC files to the new "The Batman" slot to see if anytihing at all happened.
If you want to have a look at DefautEngine.ini, there are interesting lines as well like this one:

+SeekFreePackageNonCore=Playable_Batman_TheBatman

Those are there for all standard/standardized skins but not for any of the "real" DLC skins.
What does that line actually do? Is it important? Why do those exist for standard skins but not for DLC skins? What's the difference here?
I can't tell, this is way beyond my knowledge... :(
I also don't know why they had to bolt that stupid skin so deeply into the core game. Why no proper DLC folder? Even all the PS exclusives for Origins and Knight exist in seprate DLC folders that can be handled without too much interference.
TBH at the moment I really don't care about that silly skin any more. I am much more interested to find out what the other files do. If there is any substantial bugfix or enhancement in there.
If you have a working and updated EPIC installation, could you have a look at the followong:
- Are shadows/refelxions for the Batman Inc. suit still missing?
- There is a bug, that Pyg Doll-O-Trons or firefighters rescued before the big GCPD tank battle disappear from GCPD after the battle. Is that bug still there? Usually there should be 16 firefighters, so if you do have less or the Doll-O-Tron cell is empty this at least is a hint the bug might still be in the game. Although it's no hard proof because the fix might be linked directly to the trigger moment,,,
- There is another bug with the PYG quest that the mission marker reappears when entering the PYG hideout again after finishing the mission. I am especially interested in those PYG-related bugs, because a file called PYG.upk on STEAM actually got an update.
- Also noone on STEAM seems to have the Earth 2 Dark Knight skin, although the necessary files were provided with the patch. GOG and EPIC already had this one, do you (still) have it on EPIC?
- Beyond that, have you noticed any changes in performance? In STEAM forums some people say they have better, some worse performance...

P.S.: Thanks in advance - and also merry christmas! :)

Of coutrse I also can't tell you why they included the skin the way they did without any DLC folder but your extremely detailed answer still unfortunately did not reply if you have ever integrated the additional lines from my patch into the main Bmgame.ini so that question remains for me as well. I do agree that some of the other files that came along with this update might be important as well - especially the textures file so I decided to pack them ALL (only excluding the DLC folder) in one package. Write me in chat if you should be interested in getting them - my chat is open :)

I can tell you that to my surprise the two additional skins (anime/and Zur-En-Arr) have been removed from the regular Epic release again. Maybe they accidentally removed the lines from the Bmgame.ini files because reinserting them brought them back. Earth 2 skin is still available. I also have shadows with the Batman Inc. suit (just tested) ... did not find sth. to reflect. Hard for me to compare performance because I recently upgraded my GPU to a 4060 and it is running smooth as butter with around 90fps in 1080p. I am not playing the game actively right now so it would take me too much tim eto test the other issues you mentioned. In any case, send me a chat if you shoul dbe interested in the remaining files and merry christmas to you as well :)
Thanks for your reply.

Sorry for that one - but I'd say the line in BmGame.ini alone won't solve the issue. Each of the suits also has a dotted showcase line either in DefaultGame.ini or the corresponding DLC BmGame.ini.- which usually is sufficent. So I'd consider the chances of success rather slim. But I might try if I am in the mood for further testing... ;)

Really the whole shape, or just the cape, but missing head, feet and body?

ON the other hand it would have been the easiest test you could have done ... no matter how high you consider the chances for it to succeed so it surprises me a bit that you did not do this before copying steam files in several different directories ... of course your decison. :)

I guess I would have to find an area in which I can basically SEE the whole body incl. head. The cape did show and the feet as well ... I will try again and make a screenshot of it. Just a sec.

Yes, It's trial and error. Only if you have the proper solution you know waht really works... ;)

Thanks, no need for that. If you see the sahdow of the feet, that's all information I need.

Okay, after further testing I have to correct myself. The shadow only shows the cape and nothing else. It was sometimes hard to see hence the confusion. A direct comparision with the other suits showed the bug. So yes, it is in the EGS version as well.

Bummer! Another screwup exclusive to PC and XBOX. On PS it works... ;)
But thanks anyway!

OK, you challenged me... ;)
I did exactly what you asked for - and this is exactly the thing causing the file corruption error.
You can copy over all the changed files from STEAM BmGame folder to GOG. Game works like a charm.
Puttin the

.ShowcaseItems=( Page="Players", Item="BatmanTheBatman", Skin="Playable_Batman_TheBatman", Levels="Showcase_Ambient_Background|Showcase_Players_BatmanTheBatman", Camera="HumanL", SortIndex=191, Unlocked=TRUE )

line into the DefaultGame.ini - game runs but no suit. :(

line into BmGame.ini - file corruption in BmGame.ini. :( :(

Btw. if the game runs, theres also no fix of the mentioned PYG bugs.
So bottom line: apart from the new suit this patch probably does not really do anything. And for the suit there are already improved version at Nexusmods that should work properly with the GOG version. So you are not missing anything here on GOG for not getting the update!

Well - at least we can be absolutely sure now. Interesting that it says "file corruption" but that's a pretty sure sign that the epic files won't be compatible with the rest of the GOG version ... just like the Steam version.

I did not test it so it could be fixed or not ....

Since I don't know what else the update does I can neither agree nor disagree ;) But I'd say regarding those issues we knew of it probably won't do that much - other than the skin.

OK guys, getting back to this topic. If you want to have the official suit in the GOG version, you have to copy the following files from STEAM or EPIC to a CookedPCConsole folder:

Playable_Batman_TheBatman_SF.upk
Showcase_Players_BatmanTheBatman.upk
Showcase_UI_BatmanTheBatman_SF.upk
Textures.tfc

If you want, you can create a separate folder in DLC, for example "TheBatman" with subfolders Content => BmGame => CookedPCConsole and put the files there.
Then in folder BmGame you create another subfolder Config with a file BmGame.ini - and into that ini-file you put the following lines:

[BmGame.RGameInfo]
.ShowcaseItems=( Page="Players", Item="BatmanMk2", Skin="Playable_Batman_Std", Levels="Showcase_Ambient_Background|Showcase_Players_Batmanmk2", Camera="HumanL", SortIndex=100, Unlocked=TRUE )

.ShowcaseItems=( Page="Players", Item="BatmanTheBatman", Skin="Playable_Batman_TheBatman", Levels="Showcase_Ambient_Background|Showcase_Players_BatmanTheBatman", Camera="HumanL", SortIndex=191, Unlocked=TRUE )

Simple as that. The first ".ShowcasItems" line makes the difference! That was stupid of me, sorry I missed that one up to now.
But as said before, the modded versions of the suit on Nexusmods.com already look way better than the official one. One version already has the shadows bug fixed.

It seems that Arkham Knight got updated today and received a skin. Can anybody check if that is true?

I just checked the new version 1.99 and the 2022 movie suit is included.

YES! The release notes on GogDB say:

Update 1.999
Added Batman 2022 movie skin.
