Bard is weak, but can compensate by complicating things. Wizard Slayer is simply weak, but at least straightforward. The kit must use actual tactics to succeed, like who to attack, with what equipment, in what order and so on.
Despite the kit's description Wizard Slayer actualy can wear a lot of equipment:
- all shields
- all helmets
- all boots
- claw of Kazgaroth as ring (transferable betweenBG1 and 2 officialy). Trouble with its debuff of save? Forget it! Just play a halfling (or dwarf,, but that's worse if you ask me).
- Horn of Kazgaroth (makes life easier in BG1 if needed)
- Amulet of Seldarine.
This last bit of equipment is actualy important, because WS has some natural MR%. Pretty high. Sure, can't wear many equipment toreach100%... Or can it?
So, at lvl 40 it gets 84% MR. This can be boosted in BG2 buying that Sword of Balduran (+10%). For the majority of the game this can be your sword.
You can also gain 5% premanent MR from Machine of Lum. That's 99% MR! And in ToB you can throw away the Sword of Balduran+2 and just wear the Amulet of Seldarine!
Wait, this means you can go full blown evil and be Selfish when it comes to Tear of Baal choices! All the better! With that -2 AC dualwielding is all the more attractive!
Actualy there's a problem with longswords: they are mostly +2. So get that Flail ofAges and specialize for that too!
Other weapons you'll need:
- Mace of Disruption +2 for its negative plain protection (immunity of leveldrain, side with Bodhi for it!)
- Sling of Everard (that one with infinite bullets): easier to hit large size enemies stuck behind a doorway!
- Crom Faeyr. Having problem bashing locks? Here is the solution! Also having problem beating the Chromatic Demon? Equip this, and whirwind its Shamblin Mound form into oblivion!
None of these require any point of prophiciency to make them effective.
Note: stay away from The Answerer. Every boss (where it'd count) is immun to it.
Note on being halfling: one advantage of it (aside like betterstats than dwarves) is, you'll be able to use Mazzy's sword (protects against stun and whatnot). Again, put it in the offhand, no need to specialize using it.
Have problem against Draconis? Try on him the Rod of Reversal!
You fear that 1% chance magic hitting you? Get the Plate of Enkidu! Also protects against backstabbing!
Don't forget to stack up on protection scrolls though.
Another good news is, if you use longswords, you can use Angurvadal. After upgrading it, it turns realy awesome, and even better if you are evil, with Tear of Wrath you'll actualy have 24 STR, even as a halfling! Who needs dwarves with their supersmell when you can be halfling?! An evil, feral halfling of course...! (Also makes Deck of Many Things unnecessary, which WS shouldn't be able to use in the first place.)
