if you want to play EE get the Beamdog builds because [unlike Gog] they work well

Like I previously posted I tried playing the EEs but I didn't like the changes to cutscenes, etc. It just didn't feel right.

ShadowWalker56: Then exactly where should the mods go?
avatar
olnorton: In your BG2 root directory. The one with bgmain.exe. They will have their own sub-folders, but the setup files will be in the root directory.
For me that is E:\Games\Baldur's Gate 2. See Pic:

Take a screenshot of the error message that says it can't find something.
Okay.....guess I'll try to install the mods again then I'll post a screenshot.....

One question.....should I make a character before I install the mods to BG 1&2?

No, and you don't install any mods to BG1
BGT is a BG2 mod to add the BG1 content to BG2.

Yeah, I know.....that's actually what I meant....BG 2....

Is this the file I'm looking for?

in your screenshots the game folder is being synced... thats not a good idea

have you actually played the game i.e, get it to boot up at least once before trying to run the mod exe over the top

When I try to run BG 2 it's flashing....not really sure what is causing the problem.....I'm about ready to give up and go play something else.....

That's the right folder, but at the time you took that screenshot, you hadn't installed the TobEX mod that is giving you the error message in the screenshot.

If you extracted the mod correctly, you should have a TobEX folder in there (see pic) and you should be running Setup-TobEX from the folder in the first screenshot.

However, before you mod any game, you should start it up and make sure it runs.

Like I posted before....I did and BG 2 is stuttering really bad.....I'm seriously thinking of giving up and just waiting for BG 3.....
try turning off whatever software is trying to sync that folder... or at least remove the folder from the list of sync items
