tpaolini: I know that when you slide it to the left the game is easier and when you slide it to the right the game is harder, but I do not know what exactly it changes it makes in the game.
So, what game's features the slider changes to make it either easier or harder to play?
Thanks!
strixo: bg1 doesn't list those huh? I forgot about that. I don't know if anyone knows. These are the settings from BG2. BG1 also mentions that difficulties below "normal" will result in a penalty to XP.
Insane: All monsters do double damage.
Hard: All monsters do 50% more damage.
Core Rules: Standard D&D rules - HP is random, you can fail to learn spells, you can get gibbed (no resurrection), friendly fire is possible, monsters do 100% damage
Normal: All hit point rolls are maximum, characters cannot permanently die, all spells are automatically learned, monsters do three quarters damage, no AoE friendly fire
Novice: Same as normal, but the monsters do just 50% damage.
