I've installed Baldurs Gate with the following mods:

Widescreen (resolution is 1280x800)
GUI
Baldurdash bugfixes and text update
Unfinished Business
Mini Quests and Encounters
Herbs and Potions add-in
BG1 Tweak Pack
TotSC patch 1.3.5521

The game starts well enough, but when I talk to a character, the screen automatically moves down and right (img1). The same thing happens when I walk into the house where Shank is (img2). Img3 shows the most I can move the screen to the top left (note the cursor in the corner) - img4 shows the most I can move the screen to the bottom right.

I have no idea what the problem could be. All help is appreciated!
for some reason the first post only shows the first image...
3rd image...

and 4th...

What order did you install them in? The official TotSC patch should be the very first install to bring the game up to date (and not needed if you have the GOG edition), then you start the mods. So you might have to start again.

Thanks for the response!

I tried re-installing the game again (this time without the TotSC patch) and installed the mods in this order:

Baldurdash bugfixes and text update
Unfinished Business
Mini Quests and Encounters
Herbs and Potions add-in
BG1 Tweak Pack
Widescreen
GUI

Unfortunately, this brought no change whatsoever. The camera still pans away like that during dialogue. :(
Are you using the GoG version? If you have Baldur's Gate 2 there's a mod called Baldur's Gate Trilogy that uses BG2's engine for BG1. Might fix it, but I don't recall having this issue.

What resolution are you applying for widescreen? (I'm sure I've read about this issue before but cannot remember where) The only thing you can try is to install each mod one at a time, start the game at each step and see which mod is causing it. Probably something to do with widescreen and/or GUI.

I have the GoG version of Baldurs Gate, but I don't have Baldurs Gate 2.

I've tried using 1280x800 and 1280x768 and they both have the same problem. I tried installing all the mods again like you said and I'm pretty sure it's the widescreen mod that's causing it.

Not sure what else to say, you might just have to play without it. You could post a question or look for answers at the G3 forums, though I had a quick look and could not find anything. Best of luck. :)

EDIT: By the way, normal behavior is for the screen to pan during dialog, but should center on the person talking. Some interior areas might be too small for panning with large resolutions, so they might only align to the top left. In other words, I'm not sure if this is an issue with the widescreen mod, or just a normal side-effect of using it.

Well thanks for helping me out anyways! It's not a gamebreaker after all, just a bit annoying. :) Btw, I found a discussion on the topic on the G3 forums, and apparantly this problem only appears on BG1. Does that mean that if I install the mod with BG2, the problem will go away?

Oops, I edited my post after you'd already replied. Sorry about that. There is definitely no such issue with BG2 widescreen (or BG1 Tutu / Trilogy, or PST or IWD1). I've never actually applied the widescreen to BG1 vanilla, so as I mentioned above, hard to know if it might be normal.
