I'm playing BG for the first time in years and the screen is tearing badly. Did it always do this and can it be stopped?

I tried forcing it in Nvidia control panel but to no avail.

I've never come across BG causing screen tearing. It might help somebody to help you if you stated which version of the game you're using, and give information on your system, especially if you have a monitor with high (>60Hz) refresh rates.

Do you have DDrawFix installed? If you have a setup-ddrawfix.exe in your BG folder, look at you weidu.log in notepad. If you have an entry beginning "~DDRAWFIX/DDRAWFIX.TP2~", then run setup-ddrawfix.exe and uninstall. If that fixes the problem, then great. Job done. If you still have problems, reinstall ddrawfix, but choose the Wine3D option.

Thanks for the help. I do have it installed. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling and running Wine. All to no avail. I can't play it like this so I'll try my old disk version.
