IwubCheeze: And the quest for advancedhero to get his grubbie nubbies on BG2 has come to a happy ending :)
Landeril: What? You expected the RPG Master to ignore the plea for Help?! A Hero has to be a Hero man :P
And what is a hero without a villian? Because I'm such a swell villian who can't resist boasting about his evil plans. I'm gonna let you in on something? ;) I have infiltrated GoG's main office and sold the rights to an awesome game company that knows what players want and how to improve the BG2 experience for everyone. From now on, Baldur's Gate 2 will have the following changes.
Baldur's Gate 2 installers now have always online DRM. This DRM will automatically delete everything on your hard drive except BG2 and maybe your OS in case you didn't pay for them. In addition to that, everyones Baldur's Gate 2 play sessions will now require them to check a random page in the manual every 15 minutes for a certain word and if you don't enter it, type in incorrectly or take too long to type it in, your PC will automatically revert back to 0XP and have all 6 stats reduced to 1.
There will be content changes as well. Insteading of finding the key to Jaheria's cage, you now have to purchase a 5.99 DLC that adds that key. Jan, Minsc, Korgan, Viconia, Keldorn are all available in their respective DLCs at 5.99 each. Imoen is only available if you have purchased the Spellhold DLC, playing the game without this crashes the game to the desktop and automatically opens your web browser to the DLC page, this DLC is 15.99. Edwin and Mazzy will be an unlockable achivement based on how many DLCs you buy, however their stats will be gimped until you buy a patch that fixes it. Anomen and Nalia are still available but their voice files have been switched around until you purchase a patch that fixes that, price 7.99.
Any items picked up in the game world will now appear in an auction house in Athkatla rather than the character inventory. These items can be purchased with in game gold but will only last a day. If you want the item permanent, you will have to pay for it. Prices will be on the DLC webpage.
All music in the game has been replaced by a senile old granny yodeling while beating metal rubbish bins with cat. If you want the original soundtrack back, that is of course a DLC at 9.99.
Multiplayer will have a monthly fee like X-BOX live and because of the always online requirement, this will be mandatory. While online, flaming and harrassing other players will also be mandatory, mature behavior will not tolerated. Flaming is mandatory, if community interaction is anything less than a bunch of pissed off fire breathing dragons locked in a room full of napalm, you will be BANNED (but you will still have to pay the monthly fees).
Modding will also be forbdden and if our rootkits detect any mods, your hard drive will be formatted to prevent loss of intellectual property and stabise the Earth's orbit preventing it from plunging itself into the sun. Customers like DLC's not mods so our rootkits are only for the users benefit, not ours, anyone who disapproves is just a whiner.
Finally, the final fight with Irencius will be played like a first person shooter. Gamers like every game to be a shooter so we're adding this feature here to make the game "better".
There you go "Hero", my evil plan has already come to fruition and no one will help you because they will be too busy playing my improved version of BG2. The best part about all this is YOU CAN'T STOP ME!!!!!!!! BWA HAHA HA HA AHA HA HA AHA HA AHHA A *cough cough* *ahem* HA HA HA AH AHH AH AH AH AHA *snort* >:D
