I've been playing BG1 all year, and for the first time, I can't save my game.

What happens is when I try to give my save game a name, periods start typing without my doing it at all. No matter what I type, this suddenly comes about: " ...................................... " all the way till it can't do it anymore, and it's impossible to delete it with Backspace or the Delete button.

I've scanned my PC for malware and I have none, so does anyone have an idea what this is?

Once I restart my PC, I can save my game, but I can only give it a 2 word title instead of something descriptive, before the " ............ " come back.

Also, occasionally when doing saves, if I want to click in the middle of the save title, it'd automatically delete all the words to the right, even against my will (whereas in default it doesn't delete anything unless you command it), but then it'd later revert back to default, wherein I can adjust a certain part of the title but not all of it (good to keep track of wand usage n stuff). I believe that minor problem has something to do with the Insert key. It's not a big deal though. But the other problem is something I'd like to be done with.


Any ideas on how to get rid of the " .............. " from happening again?

EDIT & ToTSC SPOILER: Perhaps it's good to know I'm in the last dungeon of Durlag's Tower. I juss got here, whereas I was in the Chess Board match last night. I'm thinking maybe my location has something to do with the bug. It started happening when I was at the first secret door (unopened) behind the 1st ghost you meet.
