Ergos: Incompatible mods can cause all kind of problems (bugs, crashes, etc.), but don't usually cause slowdowns, unless you have too many files in override, and this is usually fixed by installing Generalized Biffing.

Hickory: It's not just the amount of files that can cause slowdowns. Badly written mods, especially script-heavy mods, can do far more harm in this respect than file numbers.
That's why I said "usually". In this case, we cannot be sure that the culprit is a mod, and uninstalling mods mid-game can severely mess your game. So, unless ousteroune wants to start again from Irenicus dungeon, I would wait and try something else first.

Uninstalling mods should be done only as last resort, and even so, I would make first a copy of the bg2 folder and work on the copy by uninstalling mods one at the time to identify the one(s) responsible (if any).

Right, and ousteroune's game is not already messed up? Of course it is, that's why he/she has posted this question. Uninstalling mods, when so many are installed, is the only sensible thing to do at this stage. Did you actually see the weidu log? Uninstalling mods is absolutely NOT a last resort.

I disagree. Slowdown may be caused by many factors, of which mods are just one and not even the most likely one.

Why are so sure that the cause is a mod? I've seen installations with even more mods that would run without any problem.

I'm not saying that it can't be a mod, just that we don't know yet and therefore it is best to try something else first (like installing Generalized Biffing, for example).

Here is a full list of things that the OP can try.

Mods are the single highest factor (outside of Windows itself) in slowdowns. That is why it's prudent to look to those, when you have so many installed. Most mods are not even designed to work together, and those that are still have issues with the more obscure mods. There is absolutely NO point in generalised biffing if the underlying problem lies in the mod list itself. I'm sorry you don't see this, but that is fact.
"Generalized Biffing," solved the problem for now; thanks again, Ergos.

Hickory, no disrespect intended, but testing each of the mods i've installed would be such a huge undertaking that practicality dictates that I only turn to that solution if the problem crops up again.
