I've modifed some of the in game settings, for example to character sounds and screen scrolling. I have to set these each time I load a game, it doesn't seem to be saving them at all. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

I hear people who install in Program Files have problems due to UAC, as it can restrict file access and such. If you have it installed there, it may be worth a try to install it elsewhere. C:\Games or some such place.

Have also heard Anti-Virus programs can be troublesome sometimes, so if the former doesn't work you can try to make an exception rule so the AV doesn't scan the BG folder for example.

I don't have it installed in Program Files, it's on a separate drive. Right now I'm using AVG anti-virus, but don't have scheduled scans. There hasn't been a run since I installed the game.
