I'm new to BGEE. I'm just starting Chapter 1. How do I travel from one area to another?

Thanks for responding so quickly. I should tell you that I am playing on PC. I tried to exit the map and the wheel came up. When I clicked on it, I got the travel screen and I couldn't go any where. I'm stuck.

Try the eastern map edge instead

Just to be sure, the wold map should be something like this.

Also bear in mind that the BG world maps work by "unlocking" the areas. That's done by going to the edge of the screen that's close to it.

For Example, while you are in the Lion's Way (look at the map I liked), if you go EAST of the screen, you will unlock the Coastway. If you go SOUTH while still being in the Lion's Way, you'll unlock the High Hedge. Once unlocked, the area will remain unlocked. You won't have to actually go there. That's why I try to click all the 4 edges while in an area to unlock them all. Once unlocked, you can FAST TRAVEL later from anywhere on the map.

Thanks for responding. I'm on the eastern side. The courser turns into a wheel and when I click on it, it takes me to the world map. But no area has become unlocked so I can't go anywhere. You don't really do anything to unlock an area. It is an automatic process.

Have you talked to Gorion and left with him and witness the cutscene?
Did Imoen come to you and talk to you?
What happens when you go exactly north?
Are you using any kind of mods?

Finally, are you using Galaxy? If so, is it possible to check the integrity of the game? Failing to do that, maybe you can try reinstalling the game. Some files maybe corrupted.
