Killing Drizzt in BG2.

Without mods or cheats, is it possible to kill Drizzt with a level 13 / 14 team?
If so, what is your strategy?

I've been trying for a couple of hours & am about to give up.
What makes it worse, is I have Jaheira in my team & she leaves as soon as you decide to attack them. (bloody Harpers)
You likely can, if you're lucky, but it's probably not worth it. If you do manage to take him down, Malchor Harpell eventually appears, immediately casts Imprisonment on your character and it's game over.

There are ways to avoid that fate when he appears, but IMO it's not worth the hassle.
Well I've given up for now & sided with him.
I got it down to just him a couple of times, but never got him more than injured.
I'll have another go in the graveyard when he comes to help me & I'm a bit stronger.
AFTER I've killed Jaheira. (never trust a half elf)

I don't want his gear, this is personal.

Heh, I hear ya. Bugger should learn to stay dead when we kill him in BG1.
If you try to keep the gear by dropping it, and picking it up again, Harpell will come back to get it as soon as you pick it up. If you repeat this enough times, I seem to remember that he will cast imprisonment on your party. Jerk.

Actually, I think he does it first time he shows up. Been a long time, so I could be misremembering.
The first time you do it he just steals your stuff and teleports away. If you try to hold onto the items by dropping them before he can initiate dialogue, he will teleport away without taking the dropped items. If you pick them up again, he will teleport back again, if you keep dropping items before he can take them, then he will eventually imprison you (might be the whole party, I don't remember). I think it's after you fool him 2 or 3 times that he imprisons you. While I kill Drizzit every playthrough, if there was ever a sequel, I think the ability to kill Harpell would be a prerequisite, considering how irritating it is to go through the trouble of killing Drizzit and co only to lose the loot after a single dungeon, Especially infuriating if you sold any of your old loot in order to replace it with the stuff you got from Drizzit or his buddies.

Ah yes, that's ringing a bell now. Thanks for the info.
