So I am planning to have a classic run of BG 1 and 2 (sorry have not yet gotten dragonspear. Anyway it will start in The black pits( I know it makes the original game easier with powered up characters. But I plan to do the entire game including DLC before moving on) This is for story ok guys. So BP then BG1 then SoA BP2 and ToB. now I know it sounds long. and I plan for this to take longer than usual because I want characters to play with REAL character. I have been a DM for over 20 years and I would like to be a player again and the only way to do that is with an online game. the rules as follows is for ANYONE who would like to join me in my adventure through these titles you can come and go as you pleas and I encourage you to make a custom character

Rules-
-these games will be played on core rules settings.
-you may make ANY character you want evil good tank dps or whatever I don't care this is suppose to be a challenge.
-you may spend up to (use tomes if you need to) 85 stats to make your character following these guidelines no stat below 10 and no stat above 20
-you may begin with 1 +1 weapon, armor, ring, or other piece of equipment or any item worth less than 5,000g (base price of course)
-sense gold is team based if a item is wanted by 2 or more people they may exchange in game items for negotiations (I really don't see this being a problem but you never know)
-If you have to leave and miss a few sessions you will be allowed to give your char EXP to match but not more(as long as it is the same lvl I don't really care cause we will probably be maxed the majority of the first couple games anyway but for BP2 and SoA this might get confusing)
-Friendly fire will be on at all times so PvP will not be encouraged but because of RP it will be allowed. you may loot your kills
-If your character dies you may either rez him (if pvp he might have lost a few items) or reincarnate (make new char)

This is my first attempt at this kind of thing so expect things to go wrong and I know people work so we will only be playing weekends Saturday and Sunday somewhere between the hours of 10am EST to whatever we decide to play to that day. this is open to ANYONE who wants to play however I can only have 5 active players (besides myself) at a time if someone leaves I will open enrollment again until we fill the spot this does not mean we stop playing we continue the story even if there is just 2 people. plz post your char your Bio (if you want) your item (if you want) Example is

-Arlock Starwind cleric/mage XP 0
Str 12
dex 13
con 12
int 18
wis 18
cha 12
item +1 flail
- Arlock is a traveling seer in search of divine and arcane magical lore. His greatest enemy is his unquenchable thirst for wine and woman. his greatest weapon is his unyielding desire to discover the unknown.

so I am leaving this post open until Saturday when I plan to start the game so leave a char a name and feel free to contact me on facebook just look for Mattew Chiddix of Huntington WV.

----Update I a switching the order to BG1 BP1 SOA BP2 ToB

The enhanced editions are not "classic" in any sense of the word.
that's true but the old ones don't really have a multiplayer do they.. so like coke cola I say classic cause it's just like the old but it's nothing like it at the same time.. :P
If only I had reliable Internet service and a better computer (the Enhanced Editions can get incredibly slow during battles in my old laptop, especially the SoD expansion, only BG2 runs fine), I would love to join your game; I've never played these games with other people, so it would be interesting.

I hope you find people to join your party soon, have fun playing! :)

Yes, they do.
really? I don't remember a multiplayer when it first came out. but then again it's been a very long time and my memory is not the best.... my apology if it did.

Memory is what memory is, I guess, but it's pretty hard to miss (see attachment). Anyway, no apology needed.

100 points buy? Aren't those stats overpowered?

Very much so. Imoen, who has near godly stats, only rolls 87. I know some people are going to say "you can roll over 100", but unless you spend an inordinate amount of time (or get *extremely* lucky), you ain't never going to roll 100. I don't think I ever have in all my years of playing. In fact, if I rolled a character with 100 I'd immediately lop 20 points off. I couldn't play with a character that powerful.

Yea but the possibility exists I might only get 1-3 people to play with and you have to take into account that some of them might not be experienced and also I don't want a TPK every other difficult fight. this is for RP not challenge. I know I say it's suppose to BE challenging but not in a OMG insane mode. just typical high fantasy RPG, If people really do think it's too high I guess I could lower it to 75-85? what do you think my point's should be?? like I said this is my first go with this project...

You say "this is for RP not challenge". Then the points should *not* be that high. No way. Role playing is not power gaming. This is your call, and I would not presume to interfere, but since you asked, I would certainly not allow 100 points... that's just way too overpowered. New players or not, everybody will be on the same playing field, so I would cap it at around the highest NPC (Imoen, I believe), so 85 is a good mark.
85 is pretty good. At this level, for most characters it makes only a marginal difference if you have one point less or one point more.

But anyway, it is your game and your rules. Do whatever you are fine with.
For most classes it won't make a real difference between 85 and 100 (carry-weight maybe)
You'll still manage 18 points in your primary attribute plus two more, and 10/11 in the three others.
E.g. Fighter with 18 Str,Con,Dex and 11 Int, 10 Wis, 10 Cha (unless you're allowing min-maxing to dump charisma to 3 - then you've got more to play with in Int for Mind-flayer purposes - better to use spells/potions for that though - and you did say you were RP-ing so dumping a stat should be off the table).
A mage would have 18 Int, 16 Con, 18 Wis (or maybe 18 Dex is better for ranged weapons early game and lowering AC a little), even 18 Str for carry-weight and still have points to spare.

So 85 is already more than powerful enough.
