My GF has heard me play BG1+2 for a while and she gets a kick out of all the random dialogue from the companions. She's convinced Imoen is a whiner, Xan is emo, and doesn't know what to make of minsc. When she saw me reading this post (she was walking by) she shouted 'FOR THE FALLEN" in Jaheira's voice, it was hilarious.

My wife loves Misc and Boo. I do a pretty decent impersonation of him that she loves. =)

My Khalid isn't as good, but she at least knows who I'm talking about.

A long time ago, I knew a guy who talked like that. Very smart guy. Had PhD and a stutter. I do not remember what the condition is called.

The condition is called stammering, at least here in the UK. My brother-in-law suffers a mild form (there are many and varied degrees), and he's also very smart... and not at all lacking in confidence, like Khalid. He's also very large, so nobody takes the piss and gets away with it. :)

I agree with her on that one.

Imoen's voice and demeanor remind me of the annoyingly high-pitched best friend you see in a number of anime shows (think nearly any anime character voiced by Debby Derryberry - who is a very awesome voice actress), yet I love her character for some reason. Some of her random phrases are pretty cool. "Do you want to tell me a story about trollops and plug-tails? Please?" "Back home, Puffguts would always tell me a story." and "I've done had enough of this!" are some of my favorites.

I saw Xan in the mines and the first thing I thought of was "Where's Jayna? Probably off with Gleek somewhere..." Just goes to show you how old I am, heh.
