Stig79: Permanency spell.
avatar
dtgreene: Except that (aside from the spell's non-existence in the Baldur's Gate series), there are two issues with that:
1. Permanency is, again, not a priest spell.
2. Alter Self isn't on the list of spells that can be made permanent.

So, unfortunately, this won't work.

Anyway, in the P&P game, if the PC has access to Permanency, she likely has access to Limited Wish, which might be able to accomplish that change.
1. She doesn't have to create it herself. She can buy one or have it crafted.
2. Then where does that gender-swapping belt you find in BG1 come from?

True. A wish spell might do the trick too.

Stig79: When it contradicts the Forgotten Realms Lore, Baldur's Gate 2, and force feed you American social issues constantly, then; YES. It is that bad.

Anarchist_Peasant: The creator of D&D sure seemed like he thought it was in line. But I guess you know better.

You a Trump Voter?
Is everyone who does not agree with you a Trump voter? Not to mention that he is right.
The fact that is says Norway, just under my Avatar and nick should have been enough. really. That is one big hint that I did not participate in the US election right there.

You have to remember that a very large portion of Americans think that the world begins and ends in... America.

You a Trump Voter?
avatar
Stig79: No I did not vote for Trump. As you can see I am Norwegian. The people of Norway do not vote in the US elections.
Let me guess. You are a millennial?

Ed Greenwood did not create D&D. That would be Gary Gygax - who is dead. I guess you know better? Ed had no problems with the transgendered cleric though - correct. I have no problems with that one either. Odd that a powerful cleric didn't just cast an Alter-self spell on herself, though. You can just pick whatever gender you want with that one.
Yep, I was wrong about him being the creator. Point still stands though. Your being very easily offended. No need to be so thin skinned.

What point still stands? Me being a Trump voter?

Saying that a game is poorly written doesn't equal being offended. We are talking about a product they are selling for money here. Paying customers have every right to voice their opinions about it. Positive or negative. Especially on a forum dedicated to that purpose.

I suggest you look up the meaning of the word "offended" while you work on your grammar. An American not even managing to master basic English is rather sad.

well he is an anarchist and a peasant, which explains a lot of why he can't understand your argument and speak proper English

well, anyone who disagree with his viewpoint is a Trump voter or deplorable or un-educated. Enough said...

Well done on handling his type on this forum..
Yeah, Siege of Dragonspear looks like they shoehorned in a lot of BS. Would be so much better if it was actually organic and...uh...the story didn't suck. And if it wasn't missing the one major thing RPGs have to have -- freedom.

Rather pathetic to see someone calling anyone who disagrees a Trump voter, as if that even disqualifies any rational arguments they may have even if it's true in the way these guys are thinking. Seems the U.S. left that I used to identify with is all but gone, replaced by dogmatic clowns. Why can't people be civilized anymore?

As for Ed Greenwood, no, he didn't create D&D, but nor was it only Gary Gygax. Dave Arneson was the other one. To be honest, I'm rather surprised that someone who had an idea that Gygax wasn't the only one didn't know the name of Arneson.

Also, why would any character in a D&D world need surgery when they have easy access to Wish or Miracle? Would probably cost less to have Wish cast on you too, and suddenly the character could have their old body replaced. Let's hear it for out-of-place real-world ideas that don't hold up in-game, I guess?
Dave Arneson too, correct. The "you vote for Trump" guy wasn't really interested in the details anyway, so I didn't bother to mention Arneson.

Siege of Dragonspear would have been great if the author had actually played BG 1 and 2 first. It would also had helped if the writer didn't go for modern American social issues as the main priority, and the story as some extra bonus.

This whole expansion was a political add aimed at Americans. The rest of the world don't have the same social issues as the US, so it kind of fell flat outside the American audience.
