So, I just finished BGEE and the game immediately jumped to SoD, but it seems that all of the xp that I didn't get in base game (because of xp cap) was remembered and now I'm starting SoD with more experience than I should have. The same thing happens when I import to BG2EE and I'm pretty heavy on role-playing so I'd rather play the game as it was meant to be played. How do I fix this?

Play the originals. No, seriously, play the originals. Enhanced version == overpowered.
So, there's no fix for this?

The starting level shouldn't be much higher even with all these extra experience points. I know this is not what you've expected, but maybe raising the difficulty level is a good idea if you're feeling overpowered?
