I downloaded all three files into a folder. When downloading was complete I tried to run the setup.exe file I keep getting an error message that reads: is not a valid Win 32 application.

Am I doing something wrong? Is it normal for the .bin files to come up as VLC? Could someone please help me. I have Vista 64 for my OS.

Have you tried using the gog downloader? Your downloaded files may be corrupted.
Yes, Downloader downloads the files as VLC media player files and won't download any .exe files. It doesn't work.
Downloader is not working for me. It won't download all the files needed to run the game.

I have exactly the same problem, I'm not sure how to sort this out.

I've been at this for over 12 hours. This has not been a pleasant first purchase at GOG.

Calm down. The install worked fine for me and a lot of other users here. VLC may be the problem, because for some reason it thinks a .BIN file is a media file. My suggestion would be to either:

1. Change the file association NOT to use VLC to open .BIN files OR

2. Uninstall VLC and then try to install the game. If it works, great. Reinstall VLC if you want.

I doubt VLC is the cause. The .bin files should be fine, and can be ignored.

The problem is the .exe setup file is refusing to run - even if it's something to do with the .bin files the setup file should still be able to run, THEN tell you there's something wrong with the other files.

You're welcome to uninstall VLC if you'd like, but I'd be very surprised if it does anything.
I think the VLC association with the .bin files is meanlingless, since installing the game doesn't require to run .bin files.

There's a chance the .exe file is corrupt on the server, or at one specific location in the pipes, and if that's the case support will have to fix that.

Meantime, someone who has the game could post the name and filezise of the files in question so that dune1976 could compare that against his files.

I'm having a similar issue. Whenever I start the browser it says that the setup files are corrupt. I've tried using the downloader to no avail. Like someone else mentioned; not a great 1st buying experience on GOG.

What do you mean by 'start the browser'. When you click on a file to download are you choosing 'run' or 'save' ?

Pardon my wording. I run browser 1 and get a 'the setup files are corrupted' error. Browser 2 and 3 are music files...

Would downloading browsers 2 and 3 before running browser 1 help? I'm going to try this when I get home.

You have to download all 3 files to the same folder on your PC.

So,

click on the link to download the setup.exe file and choose the option to save it on your PC, don't ever choose the option to run. Do the same for the other 2 .bin files, save them on your PC. Once you have all 3 files saved on a folder on your PC double click the setup.exe file to install the game.

The 2 .bin files are not music files, they're required for the setup.exe file to be able to install the game.

Download all the files first - don't run the setup until you do
Hello everyone.I appear to be having install problems as well of the same sort.I believe it may be a problem that has occured with just the BG2 download & have sent in a ticket.I'm sure the powers that be will look into & fix things as soon as possible.I know its not all the games as after my trouble with BG2,I downloaded & installed Planescape:Torment from here without a hitch.
The problem is that no install app or exe downloads so there's no way to install the game after it downloads.I could be missing something, but I would recommend anyone having this problem simply send in a ticket & then try to be patient.

There's no setup.exe file to download ?

How many files are there to download and what are their names ?

Edit: Oh, if you mean that downloading with gog's downloader you didn't get the setup.exe you can download it with your browser and place it on the same folder where gog's donwloader stored the 2 .bin files.

I keep forgetting that folks actually use the downloader ;)
