I've been searching and haven't turned anything up. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a guide to mod the Linux version of BG1/BGII/BGT. Am I better of just using PlayOnLinux and installing the mods in that version rather than downloading the Linux versions off of GoG? If it's relevant, I use openSUSE 13.1.

Thanks in advance,

- Ludovik

I'd say yes, but there are different opinions about this out there.
Btw, there's a native Linux version of WeiDU for installing WeiDU mods.
Check www.weidu.org

I'd really like to know this as well, so if somebody have experience here, that would be excellent. The linux versions work well for me, but getting mods to work is a different chapter.

I've been trying to install easyTutu, but without luck so far. However, I managed to install fixpack, tweaks and widescreen to BG2, after installing weidu (copying weidu, weinstall and tolower to a path directory). This was by using the linux version of the game, and the linux versions of the mods. The readme was quite straightforward really.

Would love to get easyTutu working as well, as I came too late to the games to be able to play BG1 without the BG2 engine. There doesn't appear to be a linux versions of this mod, however, so that makes it tricky with my limited linux skills.
Thought I had the game working perfectly in Linux now, but the jubilation was short lived :(

The game keeps crashing every time I try to transition from one map to the next, for instance from the starting area outside Candlekeep and towards the Friendly Arms Inn. Everything just hangs, and I can't do anything, not even move the mouse pointer. I have installed BGT. Do anybody know how to fix this? I have contacted support, but they usually take their sweet time.

I had this happen when I was missing dependencies for mosunpack from the weidu linux package. Just calling mosunpack without any args gave the necessary info.

Found all the libs I needed in Baldurs Gate 2 Complete/wine_standalone/lib/*

Then had to reinstall BGT

Thanks, I wonder if this might have helped.

Spend hours trying to dig up info, and came over somebody saying that this mod fixed it: http://www.shsforums.net/files/file/308-bp-bgt-worldmap/ During that install I ran into a mosunpack issue, and eventually I found out something was missing in a library (libjpeg.62:i386 iirc). That enabled me to install this mod, and *that* took care of the crashing world map.

Just glad it's finally working now, after spending many hours trying different things and reinstalling the games and mods several times.
