I feel like trying something here. Specifically, I will post a situation that could arise in the Baldur's Gate series, and I want somebody to post the solution to the current problem. Then, somebody else (perhaps the one who posted the solution) could post another problem for people to solve. Anyway, here are some guidelines:

* Unless otherwise stated, assume all BG games (both Classic and Enhanced editions) apply, except any in which the situation can't arise in the first place (for example, in BG1 classic you can't have a situation involving a fimiliar).

* Assume no mods unless stated.

* No cheat console. In general, it should be stated whether a problem can be solved without glitches (though there is some gray area here).

Anyway, here is one I have come up with (Baldur's Gate 2, any version):

Currently, your party consists of CHARNAME, Minsc, and Jaheira. Charname is, let's say, a single-class elven thief, with a level in the teens. Jaheira is currently a level 10 Druid.

Minsc, however, has been drained to level 1.

You do not have any magic items in your inventory (in particular, no Restoration scrolls).

Your task is to restore Minsc to his formor level. How can you do this?

This puzzle can be solved without glitches.

Hint 1: The solution would not work if it were CHARNAME that were level drained.

Hint 2: The solution, to my understanding, would not work in the table top game.

Edit: One clarification: For the answer to count, everyone in the party must be left alive after the solution is performed; a solution where one or more of the characters remains dead doesn't count.

I'm guessing here without thinking too much about it, so... would sending Minsc into Berserk mode 'fix' things when he comes out of it?

Only on harder difficulties, and it causes another problem that you need to fix.

Correct; death really does cure everything in this game. (There's at least one glitch with this in the classic edition; killing a character who is under the effect of Polymorph or Shapechange will cause that character to keep the ability to shapeshift permanently; quite handy when you need Yoshimo to backstab the final boss in a speedrun.)

The idea behind this puzzle comes from a forum post where an experienced player analyzes the Shaman spells and decides that the one that revives is something an experienced player should never need. The thing is, there are situations where using such a spell is, in fact, the best strategy even for experienced players.

I just with that characters wouldn't drop their equipment on death; that mechanic is an annoying waste of time.

That's not a glitch. In fact, curing someone's polymorph this way is part of Melicamp's quest.

The glitch isn't the curing of polymorph through death.

The glitch is that, after reviving the character, the character, while technically not under the effect of the spell, retains the ability to shapeshift. Hence, if you are able to cast Shapechange on a party member even just once (for example, via a Limited Wish scroll), you can give the character the benefit permanently. I am pretty sure this was not what the developers intended.

(Specifically, normally when an effect wears off, the game ends the effect somehow, in this case by removing the ability to shapeshift. Death, however, will remove the effect without properly ending it. Note that, since death also removes stat changes, this trick doesn't work with stat changing effects, but it does work with polymorph effects.)
