When launching game, with or without gog galaxy, game kicks out an error message. BGMain2.exe application error. The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000022). Click ok to close application.

I get the same message when launching BG 1, BG 2, Icewind dale 1 & 2 (although it is idmain.exe) as well as Neverwinter nights diamond edition.

Launching with or without gog galaxy generates an error,

Sounds like security software preventing proper execution. Disable, temporarily, any antivirus/firewall etc., or add said programs into exceptions.

If the above doesn't help, make sure you have all of the required prerequisites like .NET Framework etc.

One of the things that can cause this error is if DirectPlay is disabled on your system. Try taking the steps listed here from GOG support and see if it helps:

Enabling DirectPlay fixed this not launching for me on Windows 10. Thank you!
