Hello!

When you reach the end of the asylum tests you get to a place where there is an alter to a creature that resembles a facehugger. What is it supposed to be? I've never or heard of this thing outside of BG2.

The length of it's tail goes to the back of the room. The only thing I can think of that would be that long would be an astral dreadnought, but the shape at it's body is too different to be one.

I think sometimes a design is just a design, and designers will always take inspiration from, if not downright copycat other creations. I don't recall anything that looks like that in D&D.
