So Ive got my hardcopies of the game, baldurs gate, baldurs gate 2, throne of bhaal, though Ive gone rogue and gotten a "pirated" version in order to keep from having to bring the cds when I play this game on my travels . Now when I try to run the game the enemies wont attack... certain events wont get triggered. Is this due to my rogue install? ive finished the SOA and started ToB. In example, at the altar in watchers keep first floor, nothing happens when the items are places on the altar. The expected attack does not happen...

Do you seriously come to GOG.com, which features nothing but digital versions of games, and ask about a pirated version, which you downloaded because you don't like to carry around CDs, which GOG.com would sort if you had bought it here?

You're probably just placing them in the wrong order or something anyway.

I own the CDs. I wanted to play without CD swapping. I bought GOG copies.

Thanks for the honesty. But seriously, GOG did work to get the copies DRM free. If you support DRM-free, I'd recommend that you buy the games here.

On your issue, it sounds like weird faction issues. Your save file could be corrupt, your install could be corrupt or a combination. Or something goofy happened a while back where you attacked somebody who was friendly/neutral and then maybe saved at an inoportune time in a script (this is just a guess).

My recommended solution: Uninstall the game. Buy a GOG copy. Reinstall the game. Try first w/ your old save file, if it doesn't work, start the game over.

A pirate is a pirate: there is no excuse for theft.

Could try the GOG version, but as someone in between their disapproval of my theft pointed out that my savegame might be corrupt. I will not defend my actions, as I'd be in for a storm of excrement :)

But as it was dirt cheap perhaps I should have gone here in the first place... My first pirated game in years though
