HEF2011: A female in charge of the RPG wing of EA/Bioware sounds promising for future games.
:)
Male or female is no biggie as long as the person does a good job.

I was getting at the merging, though. Not sure that is a good sign.

Yeah, I agree with Stig79, what has a female got to do with it? The best future in any company is down to the person at the helm doing the best job, regardless of gender. And if that 'best' person is female then great, but if that 'best' person is male, then also great. A female was at the helm of the writing over at Beamdog, and look how that ended.

That particular female was a really poor writer, though. And her motive was just to add progressive SJW crap into the franchise. Honoring the source material and all that was something she completely ignored. Not surprising since her idol is Anita Sarkeesian.

Agreed, but my point was '"female" in charge'.

Yeah, I know. I was just adding to it.

Female or male makes no difference if the person does a great job. Kind of dumb if she got the job just because she was female, though.
Aye, just look at the election in the US. A lawful evil woman pitted against a chaotic evil man. Both are pretty bad news.

As has been said, what matters is that the person does a good job, not what gender that person has, or their hair colour. I've lost all faith in Bioware and Evil Arts. Their bad decisions and bad games isn't a blip any more, it's the pattern. Centralising presumably means more control for the higher ups, who have taken them in this direction, so I'm certainly not holding my breath for any good games coming out of those places any time soon.

With 'Gamergaters' and other misogynists getting upset - always a good thing.

Gamergaters didn' make much noise, actually. It was all kinds of gamers. Including females. Most of the complaints was against the railroaded plot, lack of rp options, hamfisted SJW stuff shoved down the player's throat, an insane amount of bugs, and gigantig plot-holes.

Beamdog just pulled a Sony and played the victim. Tried to pin all of the complaints on a "bigots hate the trans character". Beamdog later retracted that statement somewhat. Especially after transgendered players called them on their BS too.

"Amber Scott has put on a fireman's outfit to defend us, but she is completely oblivious to the fact that her hose is spraying gasoline".

Perhaps that's the reason she was chosen.
Not really concerned over the merger. That's just common operating procedure.

You missed the tautology. If you have a problem with ham fisted, anachronistic moralizing, it makes you a gamergator. Even if you've never heard of it before!

That's how you can equate objecting to something in a reasonable manner with literal terrorist.
