i'm sorry for bothering you, but will you help me? i tried to open the gog downloader, and it still won't open. i also tried to download baldur's gate 2 through google dowloader, but it says some stuff about a .BIN file (oh great! a game that's forcing me to have the game downloaded BEFORE i download the game), and there is no .BIN file.
here's some tips that might help you:
my gog downloader was downloaded from google.
i already have a cd of shadow's of amn (but not throne of bhaal) installed.

answer this and i will reward you handsomely. and by that i mean "answer this and you get a bhaal cookie. they're really tasty!"

see, the idea is that we power the throne of bhaal by strapping grenades to it, then tossing an infinity stone in the center.

TristanWerner: my gog downloader was downloaded from google.
What? Why? Where exactly, since Google does NOT host the GOG downloader, only GOG does legitimately. This needs clearing up first, and then you need to clarify your question -- I don't see one.

basically, i was using google to download the game (but not the gog downloader. that won't open) and it requires me to specify the location of a .BIN file. the file shows up in the location, but it says that the file could not be located.

You're not making any sense. Google does not host the GOG downloader, nor any of GOG's games, furthermore, a downloader does not require you to specify the location of a .BIN file -- that is part of the installation setup. When you download Baldur's Gate from GOG you should have these files:

setup_baldurs_gate2_2.0.0.12.exe
setup_baldurs_gate2_2.0.0.12-1.bin
setup_baldurs_gate2_2.0.0.12-2.bin

Those are the game setup files, and those are (apparently) the .bin files you are referring to. Could you please be more clear on exactly what you have done (in detail), and what the problem now is?

it tells me to specify the location of the files. they're in the download folder. i put the download folder in as location. it says "file not found" is it because they aren't fully installed?

You're still not making any sense. Your topic subject says that GOG downloader will not open. You have been unclear about everything since the first post. I could take a wild guess, but that is likely not a good idea. since I have so little to go on. Can I take it that English is not your first language?

i have 2 problems:
1: the gog downloader will not open, despite trying everything.
2: i try to download through a browser, but it requires files that i can't find.

Go to Control Panel / Programs and Features. Find the GOG downloader and uninstall it completely. Now go to GOG (not Google) and re-download and re-install it.

When you have it reinstalled, don't forget to set the options, particularly the download location, so that you know where to look when games are downloaded.

2: i try to download through a browser, but it requires files that i can't find.
Forget this. Concentrate on getting the GOG downloader to work.

already tried re-installing it (a million times) it just won't open. i see it in the toolbar, but moving the mouse over the icon just makes it disappear.

The GOG downloader gets sent to the system tray, and initially it is shown there. When you move the mouse over it, it does disappear, to the hidden icons. You have to press the 'Show Hidden Icons' arrow, which will then show you all hidden icons. The GOG downloader will be there, and you can click on it to bring it into view.

Then you need to contact GOG support. Under 'Problem type' select 'GOG Downloader - other issues' and please be as clear as possible in your message.
