OK I have the .ini file set with Cheats=1 under Game Options, but no matter how many times I hit Control-Tab, I can not get the console to pop up.

Any ideas?? Running Windows 7 Home Prem 64 bit.
Double check your .ini file to be sure you don't have a space in the Cheats=1 line (between the Cheats and the = or the = and the 1). And just double check to make sure it's under the [Game Options] heading.

If everything is okay there, I don't know what the issue would be. I have it running on Win 7 Pro 64 bit and it works for me. Only other thing I can think of is to run the game as Admin, which I always do when I fire it up.
I used to have this same problem too for some reason. Try CTRL+SPACE. That works for me.
(I have BGT installed, so that might be the reason.)

Yes, that's exactly the reason. BGT changes it to CTRL+Space.
I have solved my problem. Control-Tab is the proper combination.

I am running Win 7 Home Prem 64 bit under Boot Camp on a i7 core iMac.
Turns out there are two Baldur.ini files.

The first is C: Program Files (x86) : GOG.com : Baldurs Gate
This is the one I changed and nothing happened.

The next one is at C: Users : Name : AppData : Local : VirtualStore : Program Files (x86) : GOG.com : Baldurs Gate

Once I changed this one it worked.

This folder is also where all of the saved games are at.

Thanks for all of the input!!

I've had that problem too and it turned out I was using the wrong set of CLUA commands. There's a different set for BG1 and BG2. There very similar, but not exact and when typing the commands you have to type them exactly in the right way. I don't remember what set it was that Tutu uses. What game do you use? BG2, Tutu, BGT?

Any modification that uses BG2 resources (like Tutu) uses BG2 console commands as well. Because basically you're playing BG1 "mod" for BG2.

Vista/7 Gaming Lecture 101 - DO NOT install games into Program Files as it causes these kinds of issues.

I am having the same issue. I am running Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop. Unfortunately I can't fix mine the same way you did, because when I look under "C: Users : Name" there is no file called AppData. Anyone have any idea where this other baldur.ini would be? I can't even find my saved games. The only game in my "save" folder under Program Files(x86) is my old BGTuTu save. If reinstalling outside of Program Files is my only option, I'd at least like to keep my saved games.

klazen: because when I look under "C: Users : Name" there is no file called AppData.
"AppData" is probably hidden. In explorer, click Organize button > Folder and Search Options > View tab > Show Hidden Files > OK.

That was indeed why. Thanks for the help. Console is popping up now when I hit clt+space.
