Hi Everyone, I'm not expecting any responses, but I'm posting this so at least if someone searches for this they can find a potential solution.

If you are trying to install or run Baldur's Gate 1 or Baldur's Gate 2 with the downloader, and receive an error referencing MSCORJIT.DLL being missing or corrupted, just install Galaxy and reinstall your game. That worked for me.

I spent months trying to find a solution before I found out about Galaxy. I tried all sorts of updates to my system, I tried getting the DLL alone, nothing worked until I got Galaxy.

*First post! Love GOG so far. Glad to have the classics at my fingertips.

The proper solution to this is to install or update .NET framework, which that file is a part of, and should be installed for most applications nowadays.

Hickory: The proper solution to this is to install or update .NET framework, which that file is a part of, and should be installed for most applications nowadays.
That was usually the answer I got when searching. It did not work. I spent a lot of time trying to update my .NET framework. No options available worked.

Nevertheless, that is still the correct answer. GOG Galaxy cannot fix a .NET framework error that correctly installing / updating .NET does not fix. That file has nothing to do with Galaxy, and everything to do with .NET, so you must have been doing something wrong.

Well I can gaurantee that between it not working and working, I did not do anything to my .NET, so either galaxy did something to it, or its not the issue. Either way, my post remains valid. I'm no slouch on a computer. If I spend many days trying to get it to work, but Galaxy fixes it in seconds, People should just try galaxy if they are having this issue.

No, they should not. Not unless they wish to install Galaxy in the first place. Galaxy is not a fix for .NET problems, period.

I suppose the facts can be covered again but it seems redundant, no?

1. MSCORJIT issue is present that prevents game from playing or installing with identical error messages,
2. Many attempts to fix said issue prove fruitless.
3. Problem is not resolved and issue persists.
4. Galaxy installed.
5. Game works.

I'd call that a solution and to be honest, I think very poorly of you for trying your best to take a potential solution off of the table based on your apparent mastery of computers. If I have had this issue, of the billions of people on the planet, Im probably not the only one. If this fixes it, great! What is wrong with you, really?

Nothing is wrong with me. You, on the other hand, seem to have a lack of understanding in how things work. Without a doubt, you have been doing something wrong, no 'ifs' or 'buts'. I will say it again: the file mscorjit.dll is a .NET file, and not a Galaxy file. If you fix your .NET installation correctly you would not get that error. Installation of Galaxy is NOT needed to fix this error, only the proper installation of the correct .NET components. It's not rocket science -- your fix is misleading and wrong, plain and simple.
