Think of how League of Legends and the new Pillars of Eternity do it. It's a fairly convenient modern game feature, does the Enhanced Editions have this?

It's really not that important to me, but it would be nice to know if they were adding stuff like this.

Example:
When you are aiming your Fireball spell, there is a circle around your cursor showing you how large the AOE is.

No, they didn't add a marker for Areas of Effect on release, although it was on the features request list. There were fierce fights within the community whether to add it or not, because some people thought it would be too "hand holding", immersion would get hurt and it wouldn't fit the game, as a big part of the gameplay is learning, including how to throw fireballs. Others thought of it as a modern PC gaming feature which also fits D&D board game rules, where you can exactly see the range according to hexagon fields and it was suggested to make the feature optional. While not impossible to do within the engine, it got a rather low priority and has never been implemented till now, afaik.

Modern? Spell range indicators were one of my favorite features of the Exile series.

Personally, I think it would add something positive to a game where the combat is so tactical. Adjusting without them isn't too hard, though. I guess we'll get what we get.

I don't see why they wouldn't make it an option to turn off then(perhaps even have it off by default).

Ah I see. Well I maybe it's just more common\standard nowadays(but then again I haven't played too many old RPGs).

It's certainly not necessary, but features like this would really differentiate the EEs from the originals.

I agree, that would have been a nice solution for everybody. It might still come within an update, but apparently the devs have decided not to put any effort in this feature so far.
