I have Baldur's Gate: the Original Saga and Baldur's Gate II Complete purchased from GOG few years back and I've previously run them with WeiDu on Win8.1. Now I got a new PC with Win10 and after installing WeiDu, when starting the game it seems the intro screen and the strat-up screen "pile" on top of each other which causes flashing.
What can I do to prevent/fix this?

Which game is giving you trouble - BG or BG2? A screenshot showing the issue would help.

Have you tried starting up the game without any modification (as it is right after installation)? Because unless you're installing mods, you don't need WeiDu for anything.

The unmodded versions work, but I much prefer playing the game as a continuous trilogy with all subclasses available from the start. The screenshot is shitty, but it gives an idea of the issue: every time I move on, the previous image also stays visible

Does this mean you're playing a BGT installation? If that is the case, and since you said vanilla games work fine, then I'm chalking this up to a faulty BGT installation.

Are you sure all the requirements were met? You need a *clean* installation of The Original Saga with all movie checkboxes ticked and a full installation of BG2 patched to 26498. Enough free disk space. Etc. Install BGT to BG2 folder then launch the BG2 exe to play. All the preliminary stuff.

It would help if you provide more details on what exactly you do to the games from after installation up to the point of launching your game. What mods do you install? In what order?

I suspect as much, but as I haven't run on this issue previously, I'm not sure which bit is causing it.

I have been following this sticky, steps 1-9 starting with a clean installation.

Yeah it's hard to tell by just looking at the guideline you use. We'll need to check your weidu.log file; it's in your BG2 folder. It records all the modifications done to the game, what goes right and what goes wrong. You can copypaste the content of the weidu.log file here, if that's ok with you.
Here's the WeiDu log:

// Log of Currently Installed WeiDU Mods
// The top of the file is the 'oldest' mod
// ~TP2_File~ #language_number #component_number // [Subcomponent Name -> ] Component Name [ : Version]
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #0 // BG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes: v13
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #1001 // BG2 Fixpack - Game Text Update -> GTU Classic (from Baldurdash, by Kevin Dorner): v13
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #3 // BETA Core Fixes (please check the readme!): v13
~BGT/BGT.TP2~ #0 #0 // Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Core: v1.21

I really appreciate your help on this.
I'd suggest checking BG2Config and perhaps some graphics options, but you're sure vanilla BG2 runs fine? If vanilla BG2 is fine then it has to be because of the BGT installation.

I can only suggest that you reinstall the mods. With only BG2 Fixpack and BGT it doesn't take very long. Make sure you revert both BG and BG2 installations to original state. Reinstall both games first, if you didn't back up the necessary files that could restore the fresh installation (chitin.key, bg2main.exe, etc). Also refer to the BGT Readme

http://readme.spellholdstudios.net/BGTReadme.htm

in case you have missed something.
I found the issue. It's the #D acceleration causing it, as I re-installed them and the BG2 started misbehaving in the middle of character creation on the vanilla version. Thank you so much for your help, now I can start figuring out the new problem :D
