Hello!

I discovered something neat while sneaking. There's a sun icon that will show your visibility of the spot you want to get to. If you will be visible, there's a full sun icon (https://imgur.com/a/ae73mdw). If you will be hidden, there's a half sun icon (https://imgur.com/a/Fpq98l7)

Also, when you sneak, the character that is sneaking will move on his/her own, and leave the other members behind. As far as I know, there's no other way to separate your characters.

I forgot to mention there's also a sun icon on your portrait that spells it out for you.

Just drag the portrait somewhere else, but remember: never split the party!

I wonder is this something to do with the ruleset, Solasta has a similar mechanic, for example, unless you have infravision, you can't see in the dark, so if you are ranged, your lack of sight in the dark, will affect your ability to hit a target and icons like that are to show the depth of darkness you have to contend with.
This community update here explains how stealth works in Baldur's Gate III. It takes shadows into account and it's more or less something like this:

Clear area = always visible.
Lightly obscured = stealth check.
Lightly obscured + enemy has darkvision = visible.
Heavily obscured = undetected.
Heavily obscured + enemy has darkvision = stealth check.

Solasta looks pretty good. I think I'll try it out sometime. Thanks!

J Lo: Thank you!
here is a demo available on S.
It's an old build so the camera (new) can be a bit finicky at the moment, but just a bit, nothing too bad.
