Hello!

According to this trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Mv2hiGHuGE, BG 3 might get early access in August of this year.
I seem to recall them previously saying that Early Access will be Steam only so the maybe early access date they gave us today doesn't mean a whole lot to me. I'm not getting the game until it's on GOG.
Thanks for the trailer link.

Is it just me or have they changed the colour palette a little? Looks a little less DOS2 and a little more BG (of course, that could be just the lighting for the trailer).

It does look like they reduced the colour temp a little.

Edit:typo

That's right! I was wondering why this trailer is more Baldur's Gatish than the presented earlier gameplay. I guess it's the color palette and music which also does a wonderful job. That's really good news.

In the community update they talk about the graphic improvments and they also say:

Early Access launch on Steam and Stadia.

If I'm correct, Divinity Original Sin 2 had an Early Access version here as well. So there are chances that BG3 will come here too. If it won't, I'll wait for the final version.

They definitely did! Larian always listens to their players and since the color plate was one of the main criticism, there is no surprise there. I just didn't think it would be that good.

I remember Sven saying that the EA would not be on GOG, but I maybe remembering wrong or he might have change his mind.
I was about to ask if we'll be getting early access here. Do Larian even visit the Baldur's Gate forums on GOG?
d4mn, I really wish EA came to GOG too; I'll have to wait for the launch otherwise as I'm not using steam. weird that it comes to Stadia of all things..

Yeah - the latest community update has really increased my confidence in Larian's ability to provide a great game (not that I thought they'd do a bad game before, but now it's looking and feeling much more Baldur's Gatish). They're not just throwing together a cash-grab but rather adding and refining, considering feedback, etc, etc. Plus I love Sven's enthusiasm :)

I dont get why they need to do EA: Larian could easily do normal game release.

I think it should be fun if CDPR published this as their first non-own-game publish.

Ive been gamer since the 90s, and trust me when when i say this thatt they know everything what happens inside game industry. Its probably mods who carry messages.

Simple: Experience. They did EA for both previous original sin games and the EA period made those games much better than they were in EA. And if Swen is honest about his claims (which I personally have no doubt), BG3 will be much bigger in scale. And he keeps using the word "permutations" which is a very appropriate term when it comes to projects this big. I write simple programs for my engineering projects and even tho they are fairly simple, I always come up something weird/unexpected after a while. And since permutations scale up exponentially with the number of components, they have millions untested possibilities in their hands. EA will be that period, thousands of players testing the game and speeding up the polishing stage.

I have no idea what you mean by "non-own-game". If you mean what I think you mean, I see absolutely no reason for CDPR to publish a game when they have GOG.

Are you saying they should become more like Blizzard? I hope they go for EA and Ubisoft and become publisher.
