I apologise if this has been asked a million times before but its literally years since I've been on GOG and just as long since I tried playing BG. Anyway, I've installed my old download from here and the game seems to work fine except that the cursor leaves a trail of a black flickering mess behind it on most parts of the screen making it unplayable. Most online advice seems pretty outdated so I'm hoping someone here can help.
Thanks in advance! :)

Try going to Options > Graphics, then enable the three Software BLT options.

Sorry if I'm being stupid here but where? There's no options anywhere to be found in the game and I cant find graphics settings on Windows. I used to be a master at Windows until they chewed it up and turned it into win10. Which is why I've been a console gamer for a few years.

Sorry for not being more specific, I meant the in-game options menu -- the disk icon at the bottom of the left menu bar. Click that icon, then click the Graphics button. Near the bottom of the graphics settings are three items named something like "Software Bla-bla-bla BLT". Disable all three of those, then quit and restart the game.

Also -- I'm assuming you're using "Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga" and NOT the Enhanced Edition.

Thank you, this worked. I've clearly spent far too long playing consoles!
This was helpful for me as well, thank you.
