Edit: Oh, wait... chapter 7 is too late. Aldeth's tasks are designed to lead you to the Iron Throne, but chapter 7 is the final chapter, and you've already spoken to Duke Eltan, been back to Candlekeep, and all you have left to do is confront Sarevok.

I use the GOG version with only the baldurdash mod installed. Which includes a fix called Aldeth Sashenstar betrayal.


He is supposed to betray you to the guards in chapter 7 even if you helped him in chapter 5. But he is just not present and I can't enter the building.

That is not default behaviour, that is restored content. Can't help you there.

i have removed the patch and restored a chap7 game before entering the SW area for the first time in chap7. No change, he's still absent and the door is still locked.

Next game I will wait until chap7 to do his quest.
