Is there a way to uninstall the banter part of the mod without reinstalling the game / mods ?
I am enjoying Baldur's Gate 2 (GOG version) again for the first time in years, but the banter is annoying me.

Thanks in advance

I just spent a few hours installing all of this per the instructions (I have windows 7) and now I have an error on start up that says:

An Assertion failed in ChDimm.cpp at line number 628
Programmer says: Unable to Open BIF:Data\HD0GMOSC.BIF

So angry right now... Could someone at GOG just upload a special option if you've bought both games that already has all of this done so we don't have delete, uninstall, re-download, and reinstall over and over again? It is especially frustrating as I have no idea what went wrong, since I didn't test each section as I installed it.

I bought this game months ago, and have yet to play it because every time I try, something like his happens.

Edit: I am trying again. I think I know part of what my problem was. It is regards to step 10. Where do you install these mods? If you've already installed BGT, where does UFB for BG1 go?

I've installed BG and BG2. Installed the BG2 fixpack. I;'m trying to install the BGT but the install fails pretty quickly. I keep getting a "Too many arguments in command line" error message. I'm on WIn7 64-bit and ran the install both with and without admin privileges. Anyone have any thoughts?
Hello! I just want to clear up any confusion others may have over starting a new game in Baldur's Gate Trilogy.

- After you've installed everything, you click "Baldur's Gate II" as though you're starting a new BGII game.
- Click "Shadows of Amn" and *poof* you're playing Baldur's Gate I.

It's confusing, so I hope that helps some folks who, like me, thought that something wasn't right.
Is it possible to play this setup of BGT with two players connected through LAN? I would love to introduce my girlfriend to the BG series, since she really liked Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2.

I would think it possible, but some confirmation would surely be appreciated. :-)

phanboy4: That's still using the BG trilogy. I'll see if I can dig up a Tutu guide...

EDIT:

Ah well, for a "vanilla" BG 1 in the BG2 engine, install this:

http://usoutpost31.com/easytutu/

Then this:

http://mods.pocketplane.net/bg1tutu/Tutufix_v18.rar

Then this:

http://mods.pocketplane.net/bg1tutu/TutuGUIv18_plain.rar

I believe you can also use the Infinity Engine widescreen patch if you want, but I haven't tried that myself.
I can't install the second hotfix, it tells me :ERROR: Unable to find DIALOG.TLK in: dialog.tlk.

What gives?

did you extract the mod into your baldur's gate directory? This is normally located at C:\program files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate if I'm not mistaken.

Ahh, it worked. I didn't know i had to run the installer thingy from within the BG directory >.<
Thanks for the guide op.

I do have a question regarding BGT as my last time was with Tutu. Do I have to dual class imoen to a Mage myself if I want her to be a mage in BG2?

If I leave her as a thief does she carry those stats into the second game as opposed to being a thief/mage like in vanilla BG2?

No Imoen is automatically dual classed to a mage in BGT.
She has to be a mage, to fit the story. ie: taken for casting magic.
I'm in the underdark in BG2 and Edwin keeps insisting on leaving my party. I installed the tweak in the tweak pack that is supposed to stop NPCs from complaining about reputation, but it hasn't seemed to change anything. For this tweak to take effect, do I need to start a new game, or should it work with a previous save? Thanks!
Are there any mods from improving the UI on higher resolutions like there is for Planescape?
Hi, and thanks for the guide.

One thing I noticed following installing the the three core mods (Fixpack - excluding the optionals, BGT-WeiDU, and widescreen mod) is that when beginning BG I, the town is completely uncovered from the fog of war, which if I recall correctly from playing the original was not previously the case.

As I'd like the game-play experience to be as close to the original as possible (which I never finished), is there a way to re-instate this?

The towns in BG1 are uncovered by BGT to match those of BG2 I believe. All other areas should be foggy still. I'm not sure how exactly to turn that off... probably isn't a way.
there's a option in the BGT tweak pack to clear the fog from some of the areas:
"Major locations explored upon visit: Baldur’s Gate, Beregost, Candlekeep, Nashkel, and Ulgoth’s Beard begin fully explored."
