I heard they ran out of keys. You might want to contact GoG support about this.

Are you sure about that? I see the description pretty clear.

BG1: "Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition includes the classic Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga."

BG2: "Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition includes the classic Baldur's Gate 2 Complete."

EDIT: They had run out of keys but they restocked.

I bought the Enhanced Edition of BG1 late last year and I am able to download the original game from the Extras section in GOG Galaxy and from inside my library on the website.

Never heard of the issue with the keys, so I am scared to just give you a 100% thumbs up, but I am able to download it.

Also, I think this is worth mentioning here... There are mods for Enhanced Edition which remove additions like all the new NPCs, and I am pretty sure you can probably completely strip the enhanced edition of every enhancement besides the new graphical features. Just in case that was the reason why you were seeking out the original version!

Just cut the moldy parts of the bread off and eat around it?

Haha, well, as a new player my only problems were the attempts to change history by adding new characters that completely clash with the tone of the original. Even as someone who had never played before, it was EASY to point out which character was a new addition. So just removing the new NPCs was enough to enjoy it all.
low rated
you are better off getting the Beamdog copy of EE... a lot less bugs however yes Gog gives you the base games when you buy EE here

To get the Classic version the current way is, to get to "More" section, and ask for Redeeming-Key.
This puts the Classic versions as separate games in your library.
