When I set the resolution to 1600x1200 and have 3d-acceleration on, the menu goes really crazy and it is quite annoying and hurtful on the eyes, is there a way to do this without the widescreen mod? (As it has to convert a lot of saves, and I play this game on lots of differant res monitors at my TAFE). Thanks.

Hmmm, does this same issue persist without 3d acceleration? How about at a lower resolution? Does the widescreen mod fix this issue for you when running at this resolution?

Any unsupported resolution in the configuration does this, with 3d acceleration off, it doesn't do the strange cursor repeat thing, but the image background is still borked up.

Odd, I know it may not be ideal but it looks like the widescreen mod is your best bet IMO.
